  1. They look good, good price too thanks, think I would need to cut it quite thin as its a thick pickup, will have to recess the silver cover a bit so the strings clear it , think the whole thing is about 3 cm thick

  5. I always wondered what happened to this, I remember having it in the early to mid 90s then it just seemed to fizzle out
  6. No , there were no screws on springs, I assumed it was non adjustable, I think thought the screws down the middle were what you adjust, once the chrome cover I s screwed down to the body
  7. Hi just got my Artec EBC4-CR today, I'm very happy assuming it works, touch wood. I find it peculiar that the wires come out of that brass looking plate in the bottom which will not allow it to sit flush in the cavity, I assumed they would come out of the side. I am fitting it in the body of my VM P bass, (neck psoition) my plan is to mark out the area that needs to sit in the body then use a combination of drilling holes and sharp chisels to make a cavity and a channel to the existing wiring channel ( if you get my drift). so seeing as i have that lead at the bottom coming out of the brass, should I make the whole cavity a few mil deeper to allow for this then mount the pickup on some rubber foam, or just make the cavity a bit deeper just where the wire is so it does not get squashed. This is my first project so any suggestions on how to proceed would be gratefully accepted. best wishes for the weekend ....Paul ps is it regular to use the foam for mounting all pickups, thanks
  8. They look good jono, I had read of people having to grind some off that overhung butvthese fit like peas in a pod , cheers ps had me worried for a minute as I thought it looked rounded off enough to be ok, looking at a proper tele neck they are very square, someone mocked a template up a few posts up, cant wait to get it and my artec mudbucker
  9. Thanks for your reply brensabre, most enlightening, especially string guide placement, appreciate it , thanks
  10. Hi , I just bought the tele style bass neck below for a VM P Bass project I am working on, its already drilled for 18mm tuners I was curious as this is my first project of this nature, is there any rule for fitting the string guide, how will I know the best place for it? is it always directly between the G and D string like on my vintage V4. Also any suggestions for black elephant ear style tuners I like wilkinsons but they seem very crowded on a tele headstock. also i will want to add a fender telecaster bass decal, i noticed the popular shops dont like to do ones with licensed names on them. Thank's for your help and input. best wishes Paul
  11. I am interesred in doing this the other way, I want to put a tele style neck in a vm p bass, was hoping it might be just a matter of dropping one in, now I see that p neck is rounded and tele is square, I notice on billy sheehans wife bass the bridge looks like it has been moved back, wonder if that is the reason, I am sure squier do a p that hasthe tele style neck, wonder if it woulde be a straight swap
