1. Get a tutor, first week he/she will show you the notes on the E string, second week notes on the A string, third week you'll be gigging!! But seriously, go for it!!!!
 2. Don't let the price put you off, this little unit works perfectly. As is the case with many of these the battery cover is flimsy at best so my solution has been to go to the pound shop, buy a bag of cable ties and use those to make sure the cover stayed secure. This has left some marks cosmetically. Also, another regular occurrence apparently, one of the lugs on the back has broken so the belt clip is no more. I've been putting the transmitter in a little first aid bag with a hole for the patch lead and attaching that to my strap. I'll include the patch lead (one of OBBMs finest) too. As said, all working ok, just the usual cover issue, power supply included! Looking for £50 posted to U.K. No trades, prefer Paypal gift or bank transfer, link to feedback below. Can post pix at the weekend as unit is at my girlies.
 3. Bump! My band are quiet in July if you need some bottom end cover! Classic Rock/Blues some soul/funk, good gear and transport, just getting back in the groove after a major op so I'll not be running around but if you want bass notes in the right place drop me a line!!
 4. Band I was in were 3rd support to Wilko and then The Animals years ago at Dingwalls and NWR wouldn't let me use his rig, mine was pretty crap at the time and he had lovely Trace stack! Nevertheless he was a top bloke and we had a good chat afterwards, nice guy, brilliant player!! Enjoy!!
 5.
Me too! Does anybody know Steve well enough to ask?
I've messaged Steve and I'll let you know if anything comes of it. I'm on his Facebook and can see he's a busy man so not a likely thing but you never know!!
 6. I know he's a busy man but I'd love to see a set/talk by Steve Lawson!!
 7. Whenever these threads come up I always wonder what the parents of footballer Paul Dickov were thinking!

 11.
Elbow in Dalby Forest next Saturday
I saw an Elbow tribute band called ARSE the other day! They were so good I couldn't tell the difference!!
 12. Watching on iplayer at the mo! Thoroughly enjoying it! No criticism of the bass playing here, but I am a slap fan and I'm fat!!!
 13.
Quilter Bass Block in as-new condition complete with the Quilter gig bag. 800w of power combined with a fantastically intuitive preamp that's impossible to make sound bad. It's also ridiculously tiny. A lovely amp. £450 Bergantino HD210 in great condition complete with the fancy Berg cover. I sold my Barefaced BB2 when I got this as I prefer it in almost every way. It sounds thick and full with great clarity and presence. The only downside is it heavier than a BB2 but it is by no means a drama. I carry it one handed without an issue. £450. Collection preferred from Margate, can post if required. Pics coming up.
I bought a Shroeder cab from Jay last year, it's still my go to cab. Top fella to deal with, buy with confidence!!!

I do wonder what the keyboard player's left hand technique is like though!!

 16. First gig with this little baby on Saturday and it was perfect. I plugged it in and it rests on my tuners (headless Status) nicely with the little sticky pad. Green light matches my LEDs, and unlike my previous wireless no lead dangling around to a strap mounted transmitter. Didn't even notice it was there, the transmitter gives a bit of a click through the amp when switching off though, nothing drastic but it is still noticeable. Likewise at the end of the gig I switched the reciever off before turning or powering down my amp so it gave a thump. Will have to remember a power down order!! So far so good though, got a bigger pub to play next weekend so a wandering I will go!!
 17. We're a female lead classic rock covers band and I've just got in from my first gig since the 1st of April. Just after that one I had major surgery which has curtailed any thoughts of playing at all until tonight. So I needed a bit of a hand getting my gear in (not allowed to lift anything too heavy as my sternum was cracked open in the op) and I was on my stool for a fair bit of the night but had a rocking good time. We had our original drummer for the night (regular on holiday) so it was a good reunion night. The dep we had for me was there and came up for one and now wants to join the darkside (headless Status). All in all a cracking night, so many friends turned up as it was my first one back, looking forward to next Saturday's gig already!! The stamina will build up slowly so I hope to be back to some semblance of fitness by August when our schedule goes mental!
 18.
This is slightly concerning news as I've just bought one...I'm really not a player who does a whole lot of "moving" while playing though and I'm quite careful with gear in general so hopefully it won't be an issue. Fingers crossed.
Likewise here, first gig with mine tomorrow night, not a massive mover, just prefer the lack of cables round my feet and now suddenly some issues are being reported having only heard good things up to now! Let's hope it's just the odd few, I'll be keeping an eye on it!

 22.
Oh, goodness. I wish I hadn't tracked it down and watched it.. Mind, she's in her mid-70s so I can forgive her. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_imZj_gywA
Ouch! Such a shame, she had such a lovely voice! Don't the artists or their management or advisors actually get to the point when they realise it's probably time to call it a day?
 23.
IIRC there are issues using the previous venue - anybody know of one where it could be held?
What's the problem with the usual venue? Says he who lives two minutes drive away!!!
