1. Can anyone think of anywhere in Glasgow to hold such an event? Also I played the 9 last night. as always these things are even more beautiful in the flesh/wood. Played lovely, no were near as hard to play as I think alot of you expect.
2.
Tasty stuff,if they would be 34"(damn my short hands) i would snap one of them ,i'm sure they are far more than worth for the price . .. also the action look really awesome from the first pic. Here in italy they are insanely high on price actually.
Short hands shouldnt be a problem, I seriously have tiny hands but I play a Dinwall six string, the low B on that is 37"
3. the low B is better than my Sei's but only the second best I have heard...Dingwall rule that region. but the comfort and playability you speak of is so true and it such a versatile beast with the new pre
4. I love this bass too but I am six string man at the moment and my Sei needs new pickups to do her justice so this one has to leave the fold
5. thanks for the nice words, Spacecowboy: hopefully a respray can be arranged cos I would like this to go to a loving home. Velvet: if it doesnt shift I am in Glasgow, so if the cash manifest

7. how bout my MTD, bit stingray ish but with a jazz pickup as well. An easy 5 to play and very tonally versatile, you could do near style with it. price wise it is in your budget and you'd have cash to spare http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=39973 go on my Sei is begging for new pick ups
8. I bought this a while back from bassbunny: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=25482&hl=mtd Whilst she is lovely I have recently bought a Sei and want to tinker the electronics so have to get some cash together. Spec'd as said in the link, 35"scale MM and J pups (I recently shielded the cavities cause I was bored) Bartolini pre, the mid switch in particular is great on this recently strung with mid gauge DR lo-riders, only played a little, nigh on new. and fitted with a Dimarzio 3" cliplock strap for piece of mind and comfort. Will supply with original preamp and strap-buttons as well. Looking for what I paid: £375 +p&p. or pickup in Glasgow (I am willing to get a train if you are in the central Scotland area but I expect a coffee or pint when I arrive ). I dont have a hard case for this so I can either pack it well with lots of padding, double boxed etc or I can sell you the case I got with my Sei, it is a nice solid rectangular hard case that should keep it safe. £400 +p&p with case. PM me with questions, not really open to offers or trades unless you have an ACG pre and some Nordstrand 6 string dual coils (or something akin to these, I know it is a longshot), would also maybe consider speaker cabs depending what you got to offer. SOLD Dan
9. that is truly one of the loveliest things I have seen. Scottish bassbash is gonna have to be done, I'll bring my dingy and sei.
10. i think it is terrible, tell you what if you give me a tenner I will take it off your hands, no more said. Believe me it will save you so much embarrassment...
11. ooo ooo ooo I want a go I will conveniently booking a lesson when this arrives. yo are still to play my Sei any ways Can't wait to see it, gonna be gorgeous.
12. Current plan, which looking at finances is gonna be a long term one, is to look into some wizards and an ACG 02 pre then get Martin to fit it all and give the bass an a wee set up etc since she must be getting on in years. Can always tell my girlfriend we are going to London to visit the zoo
13. I picked up a Dingwall ABI 6er, A Sei Flamboyant 6, a MTD Kingston Heir 5 and an EBS Fafner. All combined £2290 I like buying second hand
14. *edited* was gonna flog my looper but changed my mind *
15. dont think Alan does mods and repairs, he prefers saving his time for building new basses. Might drop Martin an email see what he recommends and give wizard a shout. thanks for all the good ideas, have to save my pennies, all of this is just fantasy till I have cash
16. SIMON, there it is now named seriously though I would refer to them a artificial harmonics
17. is that dyed burl? wow! got me thinking, red dyed burl would look like some apocalyptic vortex...awesome!!!
18. The bass doesnt sound bad just not quite as oomfy as I would like, I have no idea what the current pre is, will have a gander inside see if it is market in any way. Pre isnt knackered yet, bit dunted and one iffy post but nothing up sound wise. Still skint at the moment so this is all hypothetical. Thanks for any input folks

21. Ah, the other bloke, well thank you for not taking it I know what you mean bout the pre, if you look I have started a thread on possible replacements. If it does go soon there is always a passive switch. Have you got a new bass yerself?
