1. haha, I am trying to get a punk band going, doesnt quite fit the six string Dingwall bass aesthetic
2. I understand your problem, I am currently a massive fan of extreme metal but not a big fan of the bass lines, as you say a wee funky jam or what ever is more appealing. Dont suppose it really matters though as long as you enjoy listening to and playing music in some form or other. You can always adapt playing as well, or use practicing one style to make you better over all, I know Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse like to play through Victor Wooten stuff as well as supper fast metal lines.
3. for £200 you can add another pick up, or it is routed out for a piezo, go on you know you want to, I am still paying off the bass I bought last week and the corset I bought my girlfriend for her birthday
4. c'mon folks, all this interest yet it is still here in my living room

12. Hi there folks, having to shift a bass to balance purchases and justify them to my girlfriend Bought this off funkle last year: Peavey G-bass, Carbon fibre composite neck, 35" scale, thin and very playable Peavey active humbucker and 18V 3-band EQ Gotoh Bridge Red sparkle finish (doesnt show well in pics, no were near that orange, I will get some better pics soon) Peavey hard case US made, pretty rare, no longer manufactured Damage. dint in front is were piezo control was installed and then removed, there is a small empty cavity in the back were the piezo pup was, these don't affect the bass at all other than aesthetics but do leave it open for re-modding and putting a piezo in. nice bass, does and awesome super Pbass style and a Flea/Stingray ish tone with a little coaxing, the pup is further neckwards than the latter giving a different tone more pics further down thread, give better idea of colour review actually this colour: looking for what i paid: £200
13. i am very interested, would you be willing to post to Glasgow?
14. pm'd an emailed, I spend ages waiting for interest and now I have lots, woohoo for everyones info, I'd be wanting around £220 for this bass carefully boxed and posted with the straplocks and spare strings.
15. my fafner is lovely, warm but not too thick or undefined, a perfect mid ground, but i have only had it through a peavey 15" and and ampeg 810 neither of which are zingy cabs. The EBS/ampeg combination was damn awesome
16. what you need is to sit down and chat to dood
17. Listening to some Black Heavy Metal courtesy of Tyrant, just ordered the album.
18.
You can get even tension across strings on a normal bass by choosing the right gauges though. Anyway, all this fanned fret business makes my head spin.
you in glasvegas...wanna try a Dingwall? It aint as hard to play with fanned frets as you think.
19.
I wonder about the effect of the right hand position on tone.
to get a totally even tone you pretty much have to play diagonal, roughly following th line of the pickups. I have found thought playing straight down as you woul on a non fanned works well giving more bite to the G and C especially becoause you end up playing closer to the bridge.
20. i love mine, feels very natural and gives far more balanced tension and therefore tone across the strings.
21. is it the 105Q? the white one?
