1. cool mod but you do know that to get the red ones you just need to email EBS and they send you some for free! out of interest what's the bulb specs incase i feel like doing this at some point with my fafner
2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
3. it is darker than that, was quite bright sunshine when I took that pic (yes there is sun in Glasgow) mahogany/maple neck on it with imbuya wings I believe. will maybe get some darker pics when I am back in Glasgow tomorrow
4. bumpity, will get pics soon, my bro was ment to email them to me. come on folks, no interest at all, open to offers!
5. To balance the purchase of my lovely Dingwall I am selling a couple of other basses. first is my Grind 6 NTB: lovely six string bass, quite narrow spacing and easy to play neck, 35" scale so very nice tight low B. Passive and sounds good but would be very easy to convert to an active. It is not much over a year old and has never been gigged. very good condition other than some wear on the back of the lower horn due to me wearing a studded belt. this is not very visible against the natural finish and is on the back so not a huge deal. Comes fitted with Warwick straplocks to keep it safe. Strung with DR black beauties and red devils in alternating colours, these are almost brand new on, because this is a mix of packs I have the other six in a box and will throw them in with the sale. thats £50s worth of strings with this bass if you get em from the states as I did (dread to think what 6 string DRs cost over here) looking for offers very close to [s]£250[/s] £200. second is my Grind 4 BXP. Black four string, older model replaced with the cheap cirrus bass a few years back, bass wood body, maple neck, pao ferro board, PJ pups and active three band EQ. This bass has been gigged and shows the standard light wear, few digs on body and neck but nothing serious, yin yang sticker on the body covering a wee dent at the moment but I will remove this if it bothers you. This bass is small and very light with quite a thin neck so perfect for the smaller folks out there but not so small it would be a hassle for anyone else. [sold] got pics of the 6er and will get pics of the 4 in the next few days open to reasonable offers so PM me if interested. would rather collection from Glasgow (or Dunblane) but will try and get them to you by train in central Scotland if possible or happy to post if I have to (at cost to buyer)
6. yes he is mad, but I cant wait to see this, will be a beast
7. if you play thumb and index on your picking hand u can palm mute and avoid left hand muting, I would also recommend index pinky for fretting but mostly due to my midget hands
8. gonna change the knobs to the new rubber Dingwall ones when I get some spare cash
9. well you can have a play next lesson, I'll need to book one soon. p.s. hope you had a great trip, congrats and everything on the marriage
10. Might a Dr Bass fit the bill? I am considering a small protable but killer rig for when i have money (so never ) and my current musing is a Drbass 1260 3way cab with a 112LF 12" sub. that should cover all frequency basses and more whilst handling 1000W at 2ohms and being lighter than many luches i have eaten.
11. i just cant wait to get uni exams out of the way so i can enjoy her properly
12. I must assume you are the borderline legendary fullrange from the dingwall forum. I have been browsing the threads and as far as I can see Dingwall and Newtone are the only people who do suitable 37" low Bs, I also i would like to correct myself and say it is a 33.25" C apparently
13. ooo i also found a fuzz/chorus/autowah or filter combo when playing hard or harmonics gives crazy feedback. not really drone style but the best pedal i have used (admitedly that is not many) for getting weird noises including wah and octave is the Digitech BSW.
14. haha on an amp note, problem gone so I assume is was a bass prob or black magic
15. my lovely bunch: Dingwall After Burner I 6 string Peavey Grind 6er (with stripey strings ) gonna be up for sale sometime soon if anyone is interested. Peavey Gbass, great for the punk stuff I have been playing today EBS Fafner and Peavey 15" cab Squire showmaster guitar, rarely play this though
16.
My advice is if they are anything like they are in Glasgow or Dundee for service, go elsewhere. I've been to the Jamaica street store in Glasgow & the Dundee store quite a few times with every intention of making a purchase & each time walked out empty handed due to the staff being totally uninterested, uninformative & just plain ignorant. SC was good in the 90's too.
glasgow one has its days, the bass dude can be a nice bloke but i know what you mean bout them seeming uninterested.
17. i am sure i found a european site (german or french from memory) selling the F1 for not much over £500. cant for the life of me remember which on it was though
18. Uhuh 37" B and a 34"C. to be honest it doesnt feel that long when playing. got factory strings on it at the mo but i think i will get Newtone to make my next set for me, bit limited as to suppliers with that kinda scale.
19. damn you beat me, I am about to sell a Peavey Grind 6er too
20. honestly you hardly notice the fanned frets when playing, i didn't believe it when i read reviews but really you don't. The electronics on this baby are nuts too, nothing should be that versatile without batteries, its black magic. The smoothness thing is hugely exaggerated in the pic it is no where near that in real life, can just see it but can feel and unevenness the pig is my girlfriends, a wee pressie from yours truely, she loves it so I named the bass after it
21. Its just arrived and I am definately a happy bunny its a second hand Dingwall Afterburner I six string in mint condition. I lurv it already, i may have stopped gassing for a new bass ...for now and this is her with Harriet the pig, who the bass is now named after
