1. nice stuff, not quite my cup of hot beverage but good all the same, I think we should invite artists on here for banter/interview. Steve Lawson used to pop onto mx forums when i used them to answer questions and such.
2. this stuff is great, this combined with my lessons from Mark (7string) mean I may finally get a grasp on theory, I need to give this a few read and my full attention but it is all great so far.
3. I see possible prchasing when i pay off my Dingwall
4. great choice, the nicer the bass the more you will be inspired to play and learn. stick with it!
5. dunno but the thomann price aint to shabby
6. doesnt have to be a squire, theres other good jazz copies out there, but i agree the VMJs are lovely for the money
7. I was all set to order one but just blew my savings on a Dingwall (damn ebay). Will order one late summer most likely
8. I considered one of these a while back, I find it so so so much sexier than any other BC I have layed eyes on
9. Noise, may end up with something like this at some point if I stick with the extreme metal but I need to stop bass buying for a while
10. well...... you know how it goes, Anyone want a Peavey Grind sixer
11. mine now, well once i go beg money from the bank it is, thank god for student overdrafts expect to see some of my other basses up for sale soon to balance this out
12. horrible, just horrible, send it to me for nowt and we will say nothing more of it...
13. nope no pics, the others are taking the p1ss me thinks
14. IMO the best way to repair one of those staggs ould be to throw it of a rather tall building
15. ^thanks for that, if the sound returns I will try that, seems to be gone today. As I say I am thinking about a Dr Bass cab when I have the cash so I am not totally fussed
16.
That must be why i like it i'm a huge fan of flea, and now you mention it, it does look very flea-ish, if only the pickup was a bit closer to the bridge
thats exactly the problem i have with mine, it sounds more like a superprecision than a musicman. cant quite understand the pup placing as peavey were quite clearly aiming for a flea bass style
17. aye doubt it'll stay cheap. so i may have to leave it and eat this month
18. i have had a gander at alot of the BFM stuff so I have a vague clue about sensitivity. I cant for the life of me find the spec on this cab though, its an old one and I am relying on the place i got it froms word on what it is because it has nothing written on it but apparently it is an 8ohm Black Widow cab. If the tube change doesnt fix it I am going to get a new cab if one of my bands starts to gig anyhoo so it isnt a huge deal
19. if it stays at 500quid my student loan is taking a hammering
20. i hate you for posting the cause now i really want it
21. should the cab really be spilling its guts at low volume, as I say until any of my bands get of their arse and practice/gig then it is bedroom volume. I'll try and find spec though, how sensitive is insensitive?
22. yes i am using an active bass, but i also tried it with my passive one, same prob. Think I will go buy a new valve this week and see what happens. This could all be the cab though, I had trouble with this cab and my last head but I thought I had it all sorted. Would be a good excuse to buy a new cab though . As for testing the cab, well I will have to wait till I have access to another so as soon as I can persuade my mates they want a studio practice.
