1. scrubs song: men at work - overkill that vid was good, kind of a reminded me of Simon and Garfunkel, nice to listen to
2. thats cool, understandable
3. Dont want an EBS Fafner do you? I'd be up for a swap.
4. think i mentioned they are setup by in the states by Fleas staff or whatever so should be a damn good setup on a value for money bass so perfect for beginners. I want a black and white one to throw around at punk gigs (if my band pull there finger out and gig that is)
5. damn you I have no money but this looks , at that price it is a total steal, good job I am so far away or I might have to sell my kidney
6. just installed the ACG 02 in my Sei 6, have to say fan-bloody-tastic!
7. from the article I read they are made in far east but set up by flea's personal team and will retail for $400ish, if they are that cheap here I may look into the black and white one
8. when I have pennies (and finally get a gig again) I would love one (or two) of your cabs. What would you recommend coupling with my Fafner for rock, punk and metal. I dont have a car so I think the big one 'd be out as I am likely to be using spare space in band mates cars or a taxi. Would a compact or a big baby be a good place to start with the possibility of adding a second compact or a big baby sub if I decide I am a little insane?
9. ooo that looks so good, but unless you want an EBS Fafner it is unobtainable for me
10. metal is such an undefinable genre now, can be ultra fast or ultra slow (funeral doom anyone), can be guttural roars or operatic singing, electronic samples or a full blown orchestra. Metal now really just encompasses a range of styles of extreme expression no matter what that sounds like and for me at least that is the point. oh and check the pic of me and Alex Webster, dude is a god! 11. That kinda budget I'd go for either a Squire vintage mod or anything by Peavey (cirrus or millennium etc)
12. I have given up on Metal Hammer, now I read Zero Tolerance.
13. I love how many sub genres metal has. I am currently enjoying Death-grind metal (ala Carcass and Cannibal Corpse) and noise/doom metal.
14.
I believe it was the Chief himself who correctly described metal as 'Music to paint Space Marines to.' I don't necessarily think that's an insult.
Real metal heads play Chaos!
15. Metal is fan-bloody-tastic. So varied, there is a metal for every situation (in my opinion at least) and I has so much more power than most genres.
16. thats what I am doing, apart from anything my girlfriends tattoo is setting my back as much as a very nice set of pickups so funds are a little damaged
17. ordered my ACG pre and it will head my way when John isnt hampered by snow. Still looking at pickups, Delanos are very tempting but they seem wired for coil tapping and while this would make my bass nice and versatile it require drilling holes. Was almost set on some qtuners till I saw that the dimensions are wrong, 4mm too short and 4mm too wide, grrrrrr they are perfect otherwise
18.
I fitted one to my Sei 6 last year, it originally had a normal John East pre fitted to it, the change made an already fantastic bass something that really can't be bettered, and I mean that, I've tried many basses since, and my Sei is by far the best. I'm having a new Sei built at the moment, a fretless 6, that's going to have an East/ACG pre fitted to it too, possibly with Q-tuners.
What pickups are in your Sei 6? I am fitting an ACG pre in my Sei 6 and was considering changing the pickups too
19. argh I cant do the 19th, the other two other dates, 26th or 5th was it?, I can do those.
20. I'm in, will need a lift but I will make it.
21. looking to source some Delanos, ideas, going to ask around Sandberg stockist and I have emailed Shuker. Anyone got any experience with Seymour Duncans, the asb-6s would fit nicely, opinions?
