1. My only concern with bonding the neck in last would be that you can only clamp it to the top as the two wings are now fixed, will not being able to clamp the neck to the wings be an issue, also if the gap for the neck is nice and snugg will the glue scrape off as you insert it? Or am I overthinking it all as usual? Certainly not knocking it as I've never built a guitar before, just curious .
2.
But it's got 'l@@k' on it, so I'll never even consider it.
Latatk?
3. Seven string ukulele is the way forwards Surely we don't know the 'next big thing'. Before funk nobody had heard funk etc. Although reading a lot of posts on here it would seem a lot of folks are too intolerant of new music to allow the next big thing to happen. I imagine when every new style appeared on the scene the 'town elders' said it would never catch on, it's not like music was in our day.
4. I have just done your survey I agree with other comments ie my increased heart rate is from physical exertion more than any kind of anxiety. Being very active on stage I am out of breath after some songs. Also, I ticked the bass box but I play doublebass, yes it's all bass but the anxiety/stresses are over different things.
5. Mine came in a hard case, second hand from here so I don't know if it was a Yamaha one or one bought after original purchase. I can have a look and see if it's got any labels on it but it's a in our rehearsal space so I probably won't see it until next week sometime. I post back with any news when I see it
6. I like easter eggs.
7. Forgot to say they're about £80-90.
8. Innovation Rockabillys are a smooth black nylon tapewound. Nice thumpy sound for bluegrass, country and, surprisingly, rockabilly type music. Reasonably good top end but obviously not as articulate as a higher tension metal string. Don't bow very well but it's doable producing quite a dark growlly tone.
9. They stamp body and neck so you can't split and pass off the unstamped part as non deko (unless you're from Newquay). Acoustics have one stamp on the heel as the neck can't be unbolted.
10.
Prober bass theres a thought:-D
This is where it'll end Are there doublebass dealers that sell cheap EUBs to lure people in, knowing full well how addictive they are? You know the scenario, "My mates got an EUB, do you want to have a try on it?" Where's the harm? It's just an instrument. Before you know it you've bought said cheap EUB, you only use it once a week at the weekend but before long it's a daily occurrence. You're now on the slippery slope towards the doublebass dealer, he has you in his grips. And it won't stop at one doublebass, suddenly you're considering one for gigging and the road and another, more expensive one for home use. Well it seems that's how a lot of us start
11. He's changed the advert now. Still cheap for the little beast
12. This is still cheap if someone is after the little 15w version. But it's not quite the bargain of a sexy chromed open cased 30w drophead that the seller has listed. I got all excited for a minute and almost hit 'buy it now' with my lack of self control. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=301783199265&alt=web
13. Dispose of any old rosin properly. When I had a move around at home the other week I found an old tub of Petz down behind the computer desk. The heat from the computer had melted it enough to run through the hole in the bottom of the tub and it had solidified in the dining room carpet. A chair now craftily covers that patch and my wife is none the wiser
14. Not happy with the ever popular 'foot long'. Thousand Yard Hotdog
15. The overweight folk punk group, 'The Men They Couldn't Lift'
16.
Placebo
Trivial fact....... I restored and painted Steve Hewitt's car a few years ago. It was the first car he bought with his Placebo earnings and he wanted it back to showroom condition to put into storage. Sadly it was only a purple Peugeot 306 GTI 6. Boring fact over, as you were.
17. I just had to cancel Thursdays band rehearsal as I've been offered two tickets to see Alice Cooper in Plymouth. I last saw AC 24 years ago, I swear '91 isn't that long ago, and can't wait to see if the show is as good as it was. Musical theatre at its best. I can't wait.
18.
Anybody mind if we don't discuss art in this thread? I get the analogy, but there was a very long and at times closely argued thread on that subject a while ago. Just a polite request...
Point taken, and agreed with. Just thought I'd comment on the other post
19. Gov, Gov, not 'got', bleedin' Gov! Try to post an amusing reply and my phone makes an embarrassment of me, I give up.
20. Good job cos I ain't got a clue Got!
21. On the art front, I think if the piece serves a purpose other than just to be art, and the things that go along with this eg stimulating thought or conversation, then it isn't art. Therefore the above painted wall isn't art but the painted canvas is.
22. Ha. Beaten to it
