  1. re the Birdsong 5str ... I think the string folding back on itself is to do with Compliance (or perceived tension to the player?) but would be ace to hear if anyone has tried one or knows any more. Main thing I can't get my head around is why they do that with the B but not across the board, I would have thought the extra tension would help on all 5 strings but suppose it depends what you're going for !
  2. Ah! Forgive my ignorance everyone!!!! Lol Haven't really been following the relay but perhaps I should sign up are those top frets filled? (..yet..!??)
  3. What's the bass in that pic? Some frets taken out!?
  4. Some rare & interesting stuff here! The Pagelli semi-fretted thing is pretty intriguing...i'd love to know (or see photos) of the tuning mechanism for both that and the Ritter as they seem to share the 'headstock but no tuners' so I'd guess have tuning hardware recessed into the rear of the body???
  5. Oooh I like the revised horn, looks like really good access..how many frets will there be on your bass Rumple? SRish curves are cool too
  6. ps Rumple...I work for an audio company based in Sydenham quite often
  7. Wow Looks super!!!! What is the width of the neck on this build or your Stingrays? Tom

  11. Hey chaps .. There's some cool stuff up here. Don't have many videos of me playing bass, but a guy came to a little gig I played with my friend's band the other night and took some footage which I quite liked. It's a bit different! See what you think: http://vimeo.com/58884103 Cheers y'all, Tom footage by Lerozno Miseslari, the song is Out On a Roof. find Lerozno's work here: breakthelogic.com and the band: pennilesscove.com
  12. Yo I'm a bloke so I can't offer an informed answer, but it could have been a interesting thread .. mind me asking where you were interested to know? And here's a question related but less gender specific - how many of us have played non 34" scale basses (30/32/33/35/36, fanned free even) and how do we feel scale length does or does not relate to - size of your hands, technique, comfort, tone etc (I'm especially interested in the above relating to B string tone, feel etc on for example 33" vs 35" instruments!!!) Tom
  13. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
