Just finished a gig and it was soooo good Had my rh450 going into a ul210 with my siggery feeding it and omg what a tone!! It's my first gig with this set up and I has a bit hesitant about missing my bergantino but no!! Absolutely love this set up!! All this nonsense about valve amps is rubbish, the rh450 tops it!! That is all
Following on from this weeks drama I would say 1000W of SVT should do the trick
Damn, you beat me to it

You can't beat an all valve head... I'm afraid!
I've been shifting heavy cabs/amps/PAs/drum risers etc etc for years and my back/neck/shoulder/penis is fine. Maybe you all need to man up, get to the gym and start taking care of yourselves when lifting!
Now thats not what the argument is about. What where saying is that you can get that sound, if not better, at a considerably lighter weight so why bother with the overpriced, unreliable & over weight piece of sh*t that is formally known as "Ampeg". This is all MY opinion though. Yours may differ but thats life and i'm not going to loose sleep over it. -
Ive got a "VST" just give me a keyboard and your all useless

Wow this is the most narrow minded topic i've read in a long time. Comparing a svt2 to ashdown abm is like comparing a ferrari to a corsa. But that'd mate a TCe rh450 a lotus exige. Got the speed and handling of an older ferrari but will out do it on the corners where it matters. -
that got me too..neck off job?
Yeh that's my only thing I don't like about mine. The truss rod adjuster is at the heel of the neck, with no channel to adjust it. I keep meaning to give Jon shuker a call and see what he'd charge to route one.

What are you transcribing at the moment?
JakeBrownBass replied to Faithless's topic in General Discussion
Currently transcribing the hardest thing i've tried. Col. Bruce Hampton & the Aquarium Rescue Unit - Its Not The Same Old Thing. Its a great bassline from Oteil Burbridge and will take me atleast acouple of weeks to get down but i'm loving the challenge. -
bass lessons online...download speed trouble
JakeBrownBass replied to iconic's topic in General Discussion
That download speed seems tiny. My download speed came up as 9672kbps & 7952kbps on two separate sites. Then the upload was about 400kbps. And i'm on no special broadband connection. -
Bass Day UK 2010, Who is going?
My only other suggestion (might sound a bit crazy this one), get everyone to turn it down a bit?
Wouldn't work because that means one person is going to turn up a bit to hear themselves over the person next to them. Meaning the the next guy has to turn up a little more to hear over them. And then the next one then so on and so forth. Then the EBS stand will be turned up to over power everyone else and pierce eardrums with all the treble. -

I'm definitely going to be there seen as my accommodation is less than 30 seconds away from the door & i start to study at RNCM next month I always really enjoy it, i've been to the last 2. Really glad the slapfest is going to be addressed though, i thought my head was going to explode at the last one. Also, i really hope Yolanda doesn't plant herself right outside the main arena though like last year. It was really really off putting during the main performances q&a when all you could hear was her in the background slapping away. -
What are you listening to right now?
JakeBrownBass replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
Loving Rick Ross at the moment!! This has got a great bassline, yeh it may be a keyboard but its great non the less. -
shouldn't have been so impatient !! No trades, sorry. I'm in no rush to sell, so could keep till you sell your 210 ? Thanks for pointing out the price ( in the title )
No worries dude. I don't really have the cash now as i've just bought a load of studio gear. Best of luck with the sale Jake

I was mixing on a pair of these the otherday and they were bloomin fantastic!! http://www.proaudiosystems.co.uk/product-1...niter-each.html But the best thing to do is get to a store and try as many as you can. Easiest way of doing this is by picking a song or recording that you know inside out and taking it to the shop with you. Then play it through as many as you can. Then pick a shortlist of maybe 4 or 5. Leave it a couple of days and then go back and do the same to the shortlist. This try and get it down to 2. At this point I'd say go home and read up on the 2 models. Then go back down acouple of days later and test them head to head, then take the better pair home. Monitors are a pretty personal thing.
