Considered that but trying to keep the weight down as I'd have to lift the cab up stairs fairly often after wheeling it.
Surey if you just buy a piece of lightweight ply it'll hardly add any weight. Then cover it in carpet or spray so it looks better.
I've recently bought a set of four heavy duty casters to affix to my Schroeder 410L. They didnt however come with any fittings. Now, where woodwork is concerned, I havent got a clue. So, a few idiotic questions: What do I need, in terms of fixings? Self tapping screws? Do I need to drill pilot holes first? What size screws will I need typically to take the load and where can I buy them?
I'd be tempted to make a dolly board the same dimensions as the base of your cab, then use straps to fix it down. This way you don't have to drill into the cab & and knock value off it. Just an idea
The shortcut for dead notes is shift + alt + 1 (this works on a mac, I assume it should be the same on a PC). Changing the number gives different note heads. Tom
Ahh so thats the shortcut
Quick question... what music writing software are you using? If it's Sibelius how do you get the cross note heads for deadened note...? I've searched high and low! Cheers Jake Ps really nicely done transcriptions, I really liked the Dan one
This is how i do it, there may be a quicker way with shortcuts but i've never looked as this is quick enough for me Edit: Drop dow menu
Well, it's all working. I've spent the last two months acquiring a selection of mics, amps, outboards, racks, more cables than I'd care to count, instruments, oh, and an overdraft! I've spent about two months listening to a huge range of music through the monitors in the room, and we've run a few live test recordings which have worked out OK. The first real session in here - albeit my band - is going to be the weekend of 27th/28th. Something I should probably have done before now is arranged a medium for backing up files after each take. Should I be running an external hard drive and saving all tracks to both internal and external? If so, what do you experienced chaps recommend? If not, what's the preferred medium? Cheers Chris
I'm not sure about the drive but i want pictures

I always want to back the side of the readers when this debate comes up, but i have relied on tab way too long and am trying to read as much as possible now. But, When i read tab, it let me concentrate more on techniques more. So i progressed really quickly in terms of what i was able to play, but to play this i was relying on my ear & tabs. If i had a choice, i would prefer to be have less technical abilities and be a proficient reader. And i could only do this as if i were to learn to read the moment i picked up the bass. Its a lot less frustrating learning to read if your new to learning, and i think thats the most important thing. If your learning to play the instrument from the start, you may as well learn to read at the same time as they go hand in hand.

Hell To Pay: Manchester Hard Rock / Metal band seeks bassist
JakeBrownBass replied to Hell To Pay's topic in Musicians Wanted
They just f***ed me around a bit when i tried to audition for them... Basically "they" (or Dario at least, only actually dealt with him) just seem to think that because they're getting somewhere it means they can afford to be really really picky with bass players. They must have a gigantic list of reasons to cross someone off the candidate list, including accidentaly getting lost on the way to the audition! Also in correspondance with Dario, he just comes across as being really arrogant, like the "why should we hire YOU?" sort of thing. They act like they're way too good for you, even though really it's the other way round. It's been 6 months they've been looking for a new bass player (check the date on the OP) and to be quite frank i'm hardly surprised at all. I know I keep saying this but I feel it needs to be re-iterated so no-one else on here falls into the same trap I did!!! Tons of other bands in Manchester, join one of them instead.
Maybe they just didn't like you? -
Hi folks Can anybody tell me the make of Jared Followill's illuminated bass head he used on Later with Jools Holland on 2 Nov 2010?
Not seen the show but does it look like this??
