1. Ah, Jurassic5, A Day At The Races, class. And nobody's mentioned De La Soul yet!
2. I've held off shelling out the big bucks for one of these for a while now. I could have sworn I had my GAS under control. Until this afternoon. Ordered it from Bass Direct and I'll have it Tuesday. Now I'm seriously excited
3.
Would anyone be interested in an 'FX Trying' area? If I was to bring a lot of pedals, setup a couple of headphone amps and people can chain a few bits together and try out? Or are people not fussed about effects in Herts? Si
Ooh yes, great idea!
4. Count me in! Last year was good fun, let's do it again.
5. Whatever my board looks like in 6 months, that'll be it.
6.
I'm surprise you even like it as a tuner
+1
7. I'm gig free too. It's the first weekend off this year. But, I'm off to me mums to do some decorating. At least the food will be way better than I'd have got at a gig. Yum yum.
8. The rack kit for the Streamliner isn't just ears. It's one piece, bent 90deg, with the front panel and a bottom panel. To secure the amp to the bottom panel you unscrew the rubber feet from the amp and use just those screws to attach it to the base. It's also stupidly expensive. A bit of a rip off. I was lucky and got a used one.
9. Great idea. Signed.
10.
I had the green mile, though it was absolutely crap. The bb preamp took its place
Too right, it's awful. Even using some dry blend doesn't help.
11.
But that's probably exactly the sounded needed for those lines to sit nicely in a band mix.
That may be true, But the review doesn't show off the range of sounds the bass is capable of. This is supposed to be a review of the instrument, not some dude showing off his indie licks.
12.
'A really good clean session sound' - doesn't sound like it to me.
Yeah, exactly! A pretty poor demo IMO.
13. I have a VT1 MK3 and it's awesome. Proper creamy drive. It's got switchable germanium & silicon options too. Also I can recommend the TC MojoMojo. A fatter darker drive than the DHA but still natural sounding. And a lot cheaper.
14. I want to try a WMD out, it looks really versatile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL3NXDj5DQg
15. I normally don't like this kind of thing, but can this guy can play, or what! Nice.
16. Here are the latest incarnations of my two boards. I'm still hankering after a Vintage Microtubes for the big board, and the Mooer on the small board isn't doing it for me, so that'll be swapped for something else soon.
17. I've got an accoustic 4 stringer, an old Ozark. The pick up feeds back a lot. So, I bought a feedback buster and it did the job. But as my sound hole is oval I had to cut it to shape. There's no worse feeling than buying something new and the first thing you do is go at it with a Stanley knife. Thankfully it worked out fine. Feedback problems sorted.
18.
But.....you know.....best make sure
He's right you know.
19.
I'm just not sure if the walls could handle it....
There's only one way to find out.........
20. I got this Demon a couple of months ago here on BC. With the second drive and the gate/boost mods. Awesome pedal. You just have to love the spangly red too
21. I'm more than happy with my Streamliner 600. The only thing I'd change it for is the 900. I don't have an issue with lack of mids, but my P has half wounds on as I'm not after a twangy mid focused tone, more like deep, rich and punchy. It sits under everything else on stage and it works for me.
22. I've been using Schallers for ever. Straplocks are essential. As a quick fix, the rubber washer from a Grolsch bottle do a fair job too.
23. I arrange the set lists by choosing the first 4 and the last 4 songs of each set first, then fill the gaps.
24. But there is a link on the site to BC. Will that cause any problems?
25. I use mine on my small board. The Zoom, then 2 OD's going through a twin looper with blends, on a Pedaltrain Nano. Most of the time it's just used as a boost so I can drive the pedals a bit more, so each pedal now has two flavours. But I also use it for flange, filter, octave & chorus here and there if I need them. But I have to plan ahead with those effects and select one before each song if I know I'm going to want to use it. I can live with the tuner too. It's a real space saver and does what I need it to.
