1. It's always been a great show, aren't the band great. It's such a shame that Wolf died. He was a super musician.
2. How come this hasn't sold yet?? These is an lovely compressor, way better than the newer version. Have a bump on me.
3. Now that you're gone I still want you back. ABC, All Of My Heart. Nobody gonna take my girl..........
4. When I play it in my 3 piece I keep the verses & choruses clean and use a bit of drive to lift the bigger sections. As for the solo, our guitarist stops playing the riff to do the solo, so I play the guitar riff with some chorus & a hint of drive to fill the hole. I wouldn't do this if there was a second guitar to keep the riff going. The B3 covers the chorus but I use other pedals for my drive sounds. this http://nirvananews.tumblr.com/ComeAsYouAre explains how they got the original bass sound. My standard chorus sound is: Pedal model - Chorus Depth 45, Rate 23, Mix 65, Lo Cut OFF, Level 100, PreDelay OFF, I use an expression pedal plugged into the control in socket. And in the total menu I set the pedal assign to balance, min 40, max 100. All that enables me to push the exp pedal full up to get thick chorus, and back right off to give less of it. If you don't use an exp pedal you can play with the mix parameter to find what suits you best. Also, those settings work for me with my bass and my rig so they might sound a whole lot different through your gear. Using these effects might not be how the original sounded, but I'm just trying to help the band sound as good a possible, and it works for me. I hope some of this helps you.
5. I've been excited about pedals before, but this one should be really special.
6. I've just confirmed my order of a shiny new Knightfall 66 with Tom. Damn you all for helping me spend more money, this forum is costing me a fortune. But my board has never sounded better! COG lead times are 8-10 weeks at the mo so I'll have to be patient.........
7. I'm considering a Knightfall. Has anyone here got one? And what do you think of it? Ta.
8. Finally, I got my Vintage Microtubes! An interesting pedal. Lots of useable sounds that'l work for me, I can't wait to unleash it tomorrow night
9.
i have every album De La Soul have ever recorded. i love them.
About a month ago they gave away, for free, their entire back catalogue through their website. Nice. They are currently giving away this mix: http://www.wearedelasoul.com/
10. Ah, Jurassic5, A Day At The Races, class. And nobody's mentioned De La Soul yet!
11. I've held off shelling out the big bucks for one of these for a while now. I could have sworn I had my GAS under control. Until this afternoon. Ordered it from Bass Direct and I'll have it Tuesday. Now I'm seriously excited
12.
Would anyone be interested in an 'FX Trying' area? If I was to bring a lot of pedals, setup a couple of headphone amps and people can chain a few bits together and try out? Or are people not fussed about effects in Herts? Si
Ooh yes, great idea!
13. Count me in! Last year was good fun, let's do it again.
14. Whatever my board looks like in 6 months, that'll be it.
15.
I'm surprise you even like it as a tuner
+1
16. I'm gig free too. It's the first weekend off this year. But, I'm off to me mums to do some decorating. At least the food will be way better than I'd have got at a gig. Yum yum.
17. The rack kit for the Streamliner isn't just ears. It's one piece, bent 90deg, with the front panel and a bottom panel. To secure the amp to the bottom panel you unscrew the rubber feet from the amp and use just those screws to attach it to the base. It's also stupidly expensive. A bit of a rip off. I was lucky and got a used one.
18.
I had the green mile, though it was absolutely crap. The bb preamp took its place
Too right, it's awful. Even using some dry blend doesn't help.
19.
But that's probably exactly the sounded needed for those lines to sit nicely in a band mix.
That may be true, But the review doesn't show off the range of sounds the bass is capable of. This is supposed to be a review of the instrument, not some dude showing off his indie licks.
20.
'A really good clean session sound' - doesn't sound like it to me.
Yeah, exactly! A pretty poor demo IMO.
21. I have a VT1 MK3 and it's awesome. Proper creamy drive. It's got switchable germanium & silicon options too. Also I can recommend the TC MojoMojo. A fatter darker drive than the DHA but still natural sounding. And a lot cheaper.
