I've got a BB1100S, which I picked up secondhand for £150 from eBay - a few years ago now. The neck is the nicest thing about it, a bit thinner than a Jazz I think, and very easy to play. I've changed all the parts on it, the most important upgrade being a set of Hipshot lightweight tuners, which fixed the head droop nicely and brought the weight down a fair bit. I've tried more expensive basses, some a lot more expensive, but don't think I've played anything I like better. It does a great Precision sound. The only thing I haven't swapped out is the preamp which, as far as I can tell, is perfectly transparent. The three-band eq is great for on-stage tweaking, and I rarely have to touch the amp during a gig. I used to have a very early JV Precision as well, which is not probably worth around a grand now, but I sold it and kept the Yammy.
completly agree only that mine is still original. Best value basses out there.

Glad you had a good bash and sorry I couldnt make it. Also sorry to hijak the thread but would anyone who went to this be interested in having the bass relay bass next. I'm trying to get it from me in Bristol to either Devon or Weymouth and you all seem in the right part of the world to help it on its way. PM me if you are interested. Cheers Steve

You could buy my hohner jack in the for sale section. I think its a 32 inch scale and headless makes it feel smaller.

Very tempting. I'm looking for a cheap back up if my hohner jack sells. What are the necks like on these? The fender jags I've played were quite chunky?

We'll see what we can do. Cheers for the offer. -
Hi just a reminder that raymondo is driving the bass relay bass all the way from Nottingham to Trowbridge on Saturday 25th to my bands gig at the White Swan. Be great if as many local BCers could join us and if anyone wants the batton next then let me know. Cheers Steve

Hohner The Jack headless bass for sale which dates from the late 80s / early 90s. BC Only price drop to £170 plus postage I bought this about a month ago as a back up bass with no stings a broken pre amp and badly set up. This has now all been professionally fixed, cleaned and now plays beautifully and I am very tempted to keep it, but I have just bought another bass which means that this is now surplus to requirements. There are a couple of minor dents on the front which you can only see when you look closely and a couple of scuffs on the back which you would expect for a bass of this age. As far as I know it is all origional and it is strung with a set of Bass Centre Elites 45-105. It sounds great bass in with 2 powerful J pickups and a 2 band active eq. The only other slight issue to note is that the tuners are little stiff, especially on the G string but all work ok. Photos at : https://www.dropbox.com/sc/u1a99h7mdy71lfm/AABLmc0em9XjY_CvfUBxxVjva Sorry not the greatest quality but its a very reflective bass. I am happy to post at buyers cost and risk (approx £20) and the bass will be bubble wrapped inside its padded gig bag and then put in a strong box and sent by insured courier. I am also open to offers and possibly trades/px but it has to be very tempting as I would much prefer a straight sale. You are welcome to try it and please let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers Steve

Any Wilts / Somerset / Dorset people fancy the bass after me so we can get it towards Tom Skool in Weymouth, who has said he'd like it on the main thread. I won't be able to get that far south for a bit but happy to deliver it to you in the Bristol / Bath / West Wilts area if needed. Cheers Steve
