  1. We advertise some jobs as internal only when say, there are several good internal candidates. Having told people that career development is available, saves peeing your staff off. We've got about 4,000 employees.
  2. Think they do a blonde one - @discreet may be along shortly...
  3. Just bought this and listened to it properly for the first time. I t makes me very happy...can't say better than that!
  4. That is a thing a beauty.
  5. While the shape is, on the face of it more conventional than the reverse, I imagine you still get that "5th fret is two inches to the left of where I thought it would be" feeling after a BB (if my BACH derived version is anything to go by)?
  6. Nice work, well done to your son👍!
  7. Now that is very nice! They don't seem to be that common either, especially in that nick.
  8. Andy drove up to Yorkshire from the Deep South to buy my Thunderbird. Lovely bloke, had a nice natter about all things musical and bass and I'm glad the Tbird has gone to a good home. Deal with confidence folks!
  9. Some "asset restructuring" going on at Howdenspur Towers...I have for sale a Gibson Thunderbird in Vintage Sunburst and dating from 2010. Bought this from DaytonaRik of this very parish and it's a beaut. It is in generally good condition, it has a couple of chips in the finish around the mid strap button and where the wings meet the neck with a several other lesser dings which I've tried to capture in the photos. Nothing serious, just cosmetic. It weighs a mere 3.9kg or 8.6lbs and comes with the original plush hard case. No neck dive here I'm pleased to say! I'd prefer not to post this, but happy to have buyer collect (with the lure of drinks, biscuits and maybe even cake) or can meet up somewhere convenient. I live just off J37 of the M62 and work in York. Thanks for looking!
  10. I feel your pain, I'm about to go into letting go mode. Well, that's the plan...
  11. Used to have one of these - very lovely! In addition to all those volume knobs, you've got the pickup selector too of course.
  12. That looks awesome, nice one!
  13. Mine was ordered Dec 24th and arrived last Thursday, so reckon you'll be good.
  14. Mine arrived Thursday. Wow! Mine keeps opening in the Thunderbird section for some reason...those colours!
  15. Think Flock of Seagulls are named after part of the lyric from Toiler on the Sea by the Stranglers.

Bought a nice Fender combo from Mark. Comms were very good and he was obviously very interested in making sure that it arrived with me in tip top order. Unfortunately, despite being well packaged, the gain pot got damaged in transit and Mark was gutted by this turn of events. I managed to get it sorted locally to me and it now sounds fab, looks great and with a very smart faux leather cover to boot. I'm very pleased with it and you should buy from Mark with confidence!👍👍👍 Thanks Mark!
  17. Is this a Basschat thread resurrection record?😁 Broken Stones is a great song and a nice groove.
  18. Doh!
  19. Vinyl wrap do you think?
  20. Bought a couple of books form Mick - great comms, books arrived promptly, well wrapped and as new. Had good craic too! All the best Mick!
  21. Just been listening to Chris Squire's playing on Yours Is No Disgrace - the combination of clank and depth. JJ Bunel on Rattus and particularly Black and White. Jack Bruce on the live tracks on Goodbye Cream
  22. Six at the mo, with some pruning imminent as I think some focus on actually playing rather than looking/buying would be in order! Cast in order of appearance: Fender Precision MIM Gibson Thunderbird iv Limelight '64 Jazz Fender Roadworn Precision Yamaha BB425x Custom NR Thunderbird
  23. I liked Ultravox's earlier phase with John Foxx, particularly the punky Ha, Ha, Ha where the bass is to the fore.
