  1. I bought this off @AndyTravis last month but the bass I was after for a long time showed up here last week so I had to have it. I need to balance out the funds to pay for it so its sale only I'm afraid Something you’ll not see many of - Made in Japan late 1990’s, really well put together, light weight (7.5/8lbs) real Musicman sound without that chunky weight or body. ( borrowed your line here Andy ) 38mm nut Passive tone bass/treble series/parallel switch active/passive switch Brass nut 24 frets Ash body 3 piece maple neck. Gotoh hardware… There was a chip to the lower corner below the controls that was there when Andy got it and I have done my best to make it better looking and it has turned out not too badly. Lovely colour and lightweight compared to some of my heavyweight I have a case that came with it and will do the job for the journey. I will include delivery to UK addresses in the price. Any questions Guys fire away please

  6. Up for sale is my 2012 American Vintage Reissue 57 Precision bass in white blonde with black pickguard the gold anodised one was taken off but will come the bass, maple neck, vintage correct cloth wired 57 pickup with raised A string pole pieces, threaded saddle bridge, serial number on the neck plate, finger rest and bridge cover. This has a one piece ash body with one piece maple neck so a real bit of work from Fender here. I took this in a trade but moving it on as I have something coming in and nee to balance the kitty. It’s in great condition with just a few dings in the finish on the bottom edge. The neck is a 7.25” radius with 1.75” width at the nut. It sounds and plays great and having the thin nitro finish is very resonant. I don’t think there’s a better looking. it weighs in at 4.3kg and has standard strap pins on. Price is firm as I want back what to owes me I’m not really after any trades , Comes in an SKB Fender hard case A few spec details; Body - Body Shape: Precision Bass - Body Wood: Swamp Ash - Body Finish: Lacquer Neck - Neck Shape: "C" Shape - Number of Frets: 20 - Fret Size: Vintage Style Frets - Fretboard Radius: 7.25" (18.41 cm) - Fretboard: Maple - Nut Width: 1.75" (44.45 mm) - Scale Length: 34" (86.36 cm) - Neck Plate: Serialized 4 Bolt Neckplate Electronics - Pickup Configuration: Single '57 Precision Bass Split Single-Coil Pickup - Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone Hardware - Hardware: Nickel/Chrome - Bridge Cover/Tailpiece: Includes Chrome Bridge Cover - Tuning Machines: Vintage Style Reverse Tuning Machines - String Nut: Synthetic Bone

  8. Is it worth a punt Andy
  9. I need to go to Specsavers 🤪
  10. I bought this lovely Fender Musicmaster bass off Greyparrot. The original white finish had been striped back to bare wood and I think some kind of varnish had been applied but I sanded this back again to bare wood and put on 5 coats of Nitrocellulous white undercoat and 6 coats of antique white which has a more yellowish colour. I changed out the pickup as these were originally guitar pickups that Fender used at that time, I ordered a 4 pole replacement from Mojo Pickups which fitted into the cover nicely and has really improved the sound. Original pickup will come with it, everything else is original. In very good shape for a 43 year old bass Nut width 40mm Weight 3.9 Kgs Neck is not too chunky Nice low action and very little fret wear, I'm really pleased with the finished job, the grain of the wood can be seen but hard to photograph but looks nice Sale only as I have made a few acquisitions recently so Im moving it on Price will include delivery to UK addresses

  20. that BB sounds great Andy, you bagged that one before me LOL, nice playing by the way....
  21. I had been looking at that BB1600 Andy and noticed in pic4 that the frets were quite green and indicated the fretboard was quite filthy and lots of DNA so you had a bit of work to do on it by the looks of things, in spite of the issues are you happy with the sound...
  22. Pics sent Andy
  23. Could I tempt you Andy with a BB300 in Black, a cracker little bass with ££ your way...
  24. I bought a set of Chromes off @PaulHornBass good speedy delivery and a gent to deal with Thanks Paul
  25. Have a look at this post from 3 years ago. Tune Guitar Technology started the ball rolling in Japan. Kawai,SGC Nanyo,Washburn and Ibanez quickly started with their takes on the Maniac. Late 80's Tune Guitar Tech got the contract for the Levinson Blades so started importing necks and bodies from Korea. This gave them more time for Levinson. At the end complete basses were imported from Korea. Then Tune goes tits up. The Koreans keep building under the Tune Guitar Technology name. Some luthiers in Japan started using Tune templates and called themselves Tune Guitar Maniac, they claim they own the Tune brand but the Koreans dispute this saying they had a "gentleman's agreement" to produce Tune basses. Said Gentleman being dead nobody knows the truth 😃 Upshot is there's a factory in Korea building Tunes and a luthier custom shop in Japan building Tunes,up until recently the Japanese shop still bought it's hardware from the Koreans. The so-called "bad blood" between the two is mostly the product of owners with Japanese built Tunes. Not surprising, I think Fender Master Built owners would get upset with MIM Fender owners claiming there's no difference between their basses. A basic Tune Maniac from Japan will be built by a small team and maybe fired in their PLEK machine, photos of it featured a lot on their FB page along with fancy inlay work on folk's Strats and LPs. It'll cost you about £1200 before shipping and VAT/import duty. £1500 shouldn't be far of the mark. A basic Korean Tune Maniac can be had from Ned at VSN in Canada for £404. With Shipping/tax etc £650 easy. A few years back Sam Ash over in the USA wanted to buy the brand name for another budget line of theirs. The Koreans said no and SA had a fire sale on Tune products, can't say if that was a deliberate attempt to damage the Tune brand name but that was the effect it had in the US.Both are recovering with the Japanese holding the upper hand, given the fantastic value they are for a hand built bass 👍 Fine basses no matter the flavour
