  1. I know Andy, I reduced it to reflect what I thought was a faulty switch 😪
  2. Thanks Maude, you are spot on and I found the book today that explains exactly as you say. Life saver Cheers, Brian
  3. Great bass and would be nice in the 5 string
  4. does the bottle of beer come with it Craig, been gassing for one of these for ages but preferred the white model but you never know 😉
  5. THE BASS IS WORKING 100%, Maude pointed me to the Volume Knob to change models Time to make some room as I have gathered too many Basses and nearing retirement so cash is needed 😂 So here we have my Variax bass in very good condition with very light home use, comes with the charger, lead, booklet and battery holder for AA batteries You probably know about these basses so I will skip the the details and some good Utube videos showing the possibilities of models that can be obtained The only thing wrong with it and its been like that since I got it several years ago is the Model select knob, when the light is in the green position you have 12 model variations and when pressed it goes to red for the other 1 Fender 1961 Jazz, 2 2004 Fender Jazz Deluxe, 3 63 P bass, 4 Music-man Stingray, 5 71 Ricky, 6 66 dan electro Longhorn, 7 63 thunderbird, 8 2002 MTD, 9 78 Alembic, 10 68 Hagstrom, 11 2003 Tacoma , 12 Synth Moog Minimoog Bass 12 models,, lovely sounds and quite accurate for this Bass. Looks good lying there on her beach Towel The bass has all 24 Models working, Maude pointed out that I was pressing the wrong knob to change over the selector, so happy days, back to £320 delivered to all UK addresses as I was allowing for a faulty switch and the lack of Models

  11. Hi Graham, You wouldn't happen to have the old 3 point bridge and if so is it up for sale. I need one for my Columbus Eb3 as its all twisted and missing parts. Cheers Mate Brian
  12. Hi Guys I was wondering if any of you guys might have a 3 point bridge that will fit my Columbus, the one I have is all bent and a bit knackered Thanks
  13. Thanks Jon, It really is a lovely bass and a keeper, I will get better looking knobs for sure.
  14. I bought this lovely bass from Ash a few months back, it was in need of some TLC as Ash decided to sell it off. Anyway when I got it the paintwork was cracking in various places and my first priority was to stop it from getting any worse, so all the components were removed right down to the bare guitar. Next I scraped out all the cracks (gently mind) to make way for the the black infill and then I levelled this all off as best I could but some lines can still be seen, I was not too concerned about that as my main priority was to stabilise it. I then sprayed black Acrylic, taping off the red binding was tricky and afterwards I had to gently remove any over spill and level out before applying the clear Lacquer all over, left for 10 days wet and dry to flatten and then a final buff, very pleased with the finish and it does show lines and little blemishes underneath but hey it adds to the character, who wants a perfect finish. Just noticed some areas were I didn't get al of the overspray off, poor eyesight unfortunately The bridge was sand blasted down to bare metal as some of the grub screws were seized but it all came out well after a respray. I fitted a complete new loom made for me by my good friend Craig Douglas, he does a very neat Job, CTS pots Vo,l Vol and a varitone I replaced the bridge pick up with a tone rider I picked up on the bay The Red knobs are cheap looking so they will be replaced when I find some good decent ones. After getting it all back together and having a good noodle I have to say the sound rocks, the stock P pickup is very good and Im really pleased with the tone rider, that coupled with the varitone is fantastic, cant leave it down. These basses are excellent value for money and the build quality is first class and I have to thank firstly Bassassin who inspired me to make the decision to buy it, his knowledge is invaluable and for Ash who made all the effort to get it to me. Brilliant stuff lads Oh and I kept the diamond on, shame to remove it Have a look at the pics and see the end result.
