  1. @deadline Honestly I'd prefer my Masterpiece (and some other aged basses i own) to be a little less beaten up visually, but the way the necks feel played in is something I haven't found in an untouched bass thus far. In Sandbergs case the masterpieces get the heat and vibration treatment, and I would be sceptical if i hadn't tried the results! I have enquired about having all the good stuff without so much visual wear but it doesn't seem to be something builders are that keen to do for whatever reason! On a similar topic I left a slightly lifeless new JMJ Mustang on the Prime Vibe (this is the vibration treatment they use at Sandberg UK) for a week... to me the bass has just come to life. Might be all in my head, might be real!
  2. Just a bit! I shouldn't have put that one up, it's a classic and i bet most people's favourite!
  3. Of course there's always this classic look but my heart says Maple board (Hypothetically...)
  4. Hypothetical question for you guys! If you were going to pick a masterpiece TT4 with a maple fingerboard from this lineup, which scheme would you go for? I haven't yet decided whether this ba... Hypothetical bass will be passive or active. *Please note that feedback may influence real-world purchasing decisions This is just a game, of course I'm not about to buy a new Sandberg Masterpiece TT4, that would be foolish in these difficult times! White on White with black blocks Black on White with Black Blocks Tort on Sunburst and imagine black blocks... (Configurator didn't do this one justice!) White on White with black dots
  5. @ped yup I’ve run my IEM mix in before, actually on a gig where I was just playing synth bass and I had the BB on a belt! It worked really well, but I find doing it this way for most gigs is the least troublesome !
  6. I haven't got a strap to hand but here's how I've got it set up, with the Shure GLX transmitter and a mini-cable loom...
  7. I'm still stoked with mine... I found myself using it even on decent amp volume gigs. One little extra bonus on some high pressure gigs is that when you mute your amp/DI signal, you can 'hear' yourself through your own body, great for just covertly checking a part without anyone knowing...
  8. @bubinga5 I've had that New Direction album on all day, what a great find!
  9. Oh yes, I've waiting for this thread to happen! I absolutely love watching band footage from City of Refuge. This is from bassist Bryan White's channel, but West Coast Vibes has loads of rehearsal clips too! There's nothing like watching these guys put everything they have into it. I did my best attempt at Kirks tune last year... took more than a few takes that's for sure!
  10. How's everyone getting on? I'm trying to get back into making videos just to give myself a decent goal every week, something on bass and something on synth. This one is slower paced, but one of my favourite atmospheric pop songs! Also had fun dialling in some patches for a pop gig that didn't end up happening, very interesting to hear the isolated sounds from the records. So often entirely different from what you think they will be!
  11. Trying to keep the song-learning muscles in shape this week...
  12. New strings on the Masterpiece for the first time in about a year... this thing roars!
  13. For anyone interested in the Ergo straps, Bassdirect have just become the UK dealer. Prices are comparable if not a little cheaper than buying directly. May have just ordered another...
  14. How is it????
  15. @mcnach yeah you’d think so! It’s just some of the pessimism and judgement that’s winding me up, and not necessarily one member in particular. Mostly just my own fragile and slightly bored mind at the current time, I’ll get over myself!
  16. I love this forum, but I feel like, at the moment, I'm likely to get in an argument with someone in the local, and would rather not but can't help but browsing. Would it be possible to be blocked from access to General and Off Topic, but still contribute to the rest of the forum?
  17. Just sent Nick his new Sire Fretless, great dealings and highly recommended!
  18. Dave just became the new owner of a Mono strap, great dealings, recommended!
  19. A new Gruvgear strap and some positive feedback for Stewblack!
  20. Great dealings, recommended!
  21. I toured a bass in one a few years back, often in the hold and not a scratch! GLWTS!
  22. Something a little different, harking from my more guitar-centric days! MXR M222 Talkbox. Currently including a thinner tube which has been sterilised but i'd recommend picking up a few different widths from B&Q and experimenting anyway. Price includes delivery, collection welcome.
  23. I can't say i notice a vast difference in tone with it pushed in though!
  24. @Quatschmacher Yup I did notice that happening!
