After what seems like over a year of trying, I finally exchanged some cash for one of Kate's items 🤣 Kindly travelled down to meet me in one of my usual 'trying to fit too much into a weekend' weekends. What a pleasant deal!

Trying to sus out what is wrong with my Bassman at the moment. Intermittent crackling, which i finally managed to capture. This occurs on either channel, and when the amp is muted. No volume controls affect this at all. If i put the amp on standby the noise continues through the DI! Any wisdom?

My final foray into modelling/digital rigs (for now)... this has been my favourite but that world is just not for me. Used for 3 shows and well looked after! Comes with a far tougher power supply (original included). Price includes UK shipping, collection welcome or I may well be coming near you! The only thing i'd consider in trade at the moment is an Ashdown CTM30 as i miss mine dearly!

@ped It was fitted when i got the bass, and I think we felt that it was part of the story... and that it looked good anyway!

@mattpbass Insane right?

I've been a little neglectful of this thread whilst being away this summer... but the project is complete! Here's a few progress shots... Body stripped and prepared: Primed! Looking waaaay too blue! Ready for go faster stripes Stripes done Big chunk out of the fretboard... Seamlessly repaired... i can't even find it in person. New frets whilst we're at it. And here we go... she's done! Here she is with my other recent acquisition... a 1967 Hofner! I couldn't be happier... she sounds stunning and plays so well. The one I've been looking for for a long time! Going out for our first festival outing together tomorrow (Monday), if anyone is at Twinwood this weekend! https://www.eternal-guitars.com/... I can't recommend Dave highly enough. We've had so many geeky chats about the minor details on this, and it's turned out better than i hoped. His own instruments are stunning too.

@LukeFRC that's what i'd normally do with an OC-2 or similar, but figured there's no way this would track that so never tried. Whaddaya know.... it does!
-
@Quatschmacher usually it's a bit of a pitch wobble, but i'd imagine pushing the modulation on this would probably have a similar effect. I will report back!
-
The one thing i miss from playing this on the Moog is the little pushes of the mod wheel on sustained notes. I haven't yet experimented with the expression pedal but i bet there's a way to do it, or something external that can get close.
-
I feel like that video does the MXR dirty a little... as a pedal it does need a little practice to 'show' it the information it needs to generate the synth lines. The more I experiment the happier I'm getting, and whilst i still love my Moog, I'd have the MXR over a Novation BS any day already, and will leave the Moog at home now more than I would have! Had a fun little dep at the weekend...

Kithara 'Samson' 30" Scale Bass £1650 - *SOLD*

Up for grabs is this Belfast-built Kithara Samson shortscale bass in Turbine Bronze, as played by the likes of Dave Landreth, Finneas, and Lewis Capaldi to name a few. I'm really torn about letting this go, as it adds something a little different to my collection and is impeccably built, but since it's acquisition two 60's bucket list basses have joined my collection and i just can't justify having them all! Hipshot extender removed. I will also switch back in the original strap buttons. Currently strung D'addario 45-100, but I have the original La Bella flats, Ernie Ball Group Flats and a lighter Dunlop flats set all included. Again, happy to string up and setup to a buyers preference! Fits a guitar gigbag, one of which I'll happily include. Bronze metallic finish is unlike any i've seen... and changes vastly depending on the light. Seems a little more red in photos than in real life. Collection preferred, well packed courier possible, and i'm around the country for gigs so feel free to ask! Here's the spec... BODY Wood: Alder Colour: Turbine Bronze Finish: Aged Pickguard: Aged 3 Ply Black Bridge: 19mm Spacing Pickup: Curtis Novak BS/DS Controls: Master Volume Push/Pull: Push - Darkstar voicing / Pull - BiSonic voicing. Master Tone NECK Neck Material: Maple Scale Length: 30” Fingerboard: Indian Rosewood Fingerboard Radius: 9.5” Number of Frets: 19 Nut Material: Bone Truss Rod: Dual Action Spoke-wheel Finish: Aged Gloss, back of neck sanded down to a more satin-esque/vintage worn finish. Tuners: Hipshot Ultralite

1 Fender Neo Bassman 410 cab in used but cared for condition with a padded cover. Big warm sounding 410 but doesn't lack high end should you want it. I have recently acquired a 610 from the same line, which I am enjoying immensely, so it's time to let this go! Delivery might be possible but would far prefer to arrange some kind of meet up on this. I am trekking around the country a bit over the next few months so anything is possible. Replaced castors a few months ago.

This is the final goal:
-
We did start to go down that route... but there's no record at all of any of these being made in anything other than the 3 competition colours at the time, so it must've been fully stripped!

Ever since seeing Daryl Jones with the stones years ago I've longed for a matching headstock 1969 Competition Mustang. A few have appeared here but never at the right time, and the prices have been climbing steadily! Unexpectedly this barely playable example wandered into my local shop, and after 2 weeks of discussions it's finally mine. As you can see, an early 80s slightly ropey refin hides what we think is originally a 'Competition Burgundy' (Lake Placid Blue). I'm thankful they did, as it made it almost affordable for me. The headstock has been done in hearing aid beige for some bizarre reason, otherwise I'd be tempted to leave as is. . Aside from the finish, she seems remarkably original, and now the truss rod is moving and I have fitted some old flats, it's every bit the bass I was looking for. So now, with the help of Eternal Guitars on the south coast, we have started on a mission to restore the original finish. We'd love to know for sure which colour it was originally but there doesn't seem to be a way to find out. Any wisdom welcome, as the stripping is underway!

This little bass caught my attention... and accidentally fell into my bass rack!
