  1. @ped yup I’ve run my IEM mix in before, actually on a gig where I was just playing synth bass and I had the BB on a belt! It worked really well, but I find doing it this way for most gigs is the least troublesome !
  2. I haven't got a strap to hand but here's how I've got it set up, with the Shure GLX transmitter and a mini-cable loom...
  3. I'm still stoked with mine... I found myself using it even on decent amp volume gigs. One little extra bonus on some high pressure gigs is that when you mute your amp/DI signal, you can 'hear' yourself through your own body, great for just covertly checking a part without anyone knowing...
  4. @bubinga5 I've had that New Direction album on all day, what a great find!
  5. Oh yes, I've waiting for this thread to happen! I absolutely love watching band footage from City of Refuge. This is from bassist Bryan White's channel, but West Coast Vibes has loads of rehearsal clips too! There's nothing like watching these guys put everything they have into it. I did my best attempt at Kirks tune last year... took more than a few takes that's for sure!
  6. How's everyone getting on? I'm trying to get back into making videos just to give myself a decent goal every week, something on bass and something on synth. This one is slower paced, but one of my favourite atmospheric pop songs! Also had fun dialling in some patches for a pop gig that didn't end up happening, very interesting to hear the isolated sounds from the records. So often entirely different from what you think they will be!
  7. Trying to keep the song-learning muscles in shape this week...
  8. New strings on the Masterpiece for the first time in about a year... this thing roars!
  9. For anyone interested in the Ergo straps, Bassdirect have just become the UK dealer. Prices are comparable if not a little cheaper than buying directly. May have just ordered another...
  10. @mcnach yeah you’d think so! It’s just some of the pessimism and judgement that’s winding me up, and not necessarily one member in particular. Mostly just my own fragile and slightly bored mind at the current time, I’ll get over myself!
  11. I love this forum, but I feel like, at the moment, I'm likely to get in an argument with someone in the local, and would rather not but can't help but browsing. Would it be possible to be blocked from access to General and Off Topic, but still contribute to the rest of the forum?
  12. Just sent Nick his new Sire Fretless, great dealings and highly recommended!
  13. Dave just became the new owner of a Mono strap, great dealings, recommended!
  14. A new Gruvgear strap and some positive feedback for Stewblack!
  15. Great dealings, recommended!
  16. I toured a bass in one a few years back, often in the hold and not a scratch! GLWTS!
  17. Something a little different, harking from my more guitar-centric days! MXR M222 Talkbox. Currently including a thinner tube which has been sterilised but i'd recommend picking up a few different widths from B&Q and experimenting anyway. Price includes delivery, collection welcome.
  18. I can't say i notice a vast difference in tone with it pushed in though!
  19. @Quatschmacher Yup I did notice that happening!
  20. @jrixn1 Synergy will look after you well! Just had a tort for my VM5 and the stuff they've used is lush!
  21. @stevie Often sterling i have found! Fees are confirmed leaving the risk of exchange fluctuations to the promotors.
  22. @jrixn1 If you have no luck let me know and I'll see what i can arrange!
  23. I've been hunting for the perfect OC-2 ish thing for my board, and eventually decided the only way to figure this out was to gather as many of the options as I could. After some discussions on the 3Leaf and OC-5 threads I ended up filming some of the comparisons in the hope that it can be useful to someone in the same situation as me. The options available were: Boss OC-2 (the old faithful) Boss OC-5 3Leaf Octabvre Mk1 COG T-47 (2x T-16) (the current incumbent) Markbass RAW Octaver MXR Vintage Bass Octave I've tried to use musical examples for context. If anyone has any questions please let me know! I'm still gathering my thoughts and will report back a little later, including what happened when we did a blind test with my OC-2 loving friend. The current settings are always shown onscreen. I would also love to hear from anyone who has compared the Octabvre Mk1 to the brand new model, which i couldn't get my hands on!
