1.
TC Electronic BH250 , which has the toneprint facility so you can play around with different effects at no cost to see what wotks best.....? I don't have one so can't offer more advice, but looks like it would fit the bill.
+1 TC Electronics do a variety of sizes and power and the sound is wonderfully clean. I have one as a practice amp. Its gorgeous.
2. I just sent this message to a Local mod: It might be nice to have an 'In Memoriam' subforum. Known bass players and other sundry musicians have been dying quite a lot lately and neither General Discussion or Off Topic quite seem to do them justice. Regards, Ben.
3. I don't use it. Partly because I don't entirely understand it and partly because my bass / amp have such a sweet sound that I want it adulterated as little as possible.
4. Hey Jude and Let it Be are on the list of "Classics That I Don't Much Like." I love the Beatles and I don't begrudge them their classic status but they don't send shivers down my spine the way that Bohemian Rhapsody does.
5. It has a certain something about it.
6. My recent was Another Brick in the Wall part 1. That single bass note near the start. <shiver>
7. Having watched Ted last night, I am now listening to Queen's Flash Gordon. To my ears, one of the great OST albums. Probably because both Queen and the film do camp and tongue in cheek so well.
8. I would write it off as a bad experience but then I'm a bit of a wimp. As a rule, I tend to be suspicious of bargains and don't buy from strangers unless they have good character references such as feedback on here. That means that I never get a super-rare bargain basement price but I also tend not to get nasty shocks. Where possible I pay by card, too.
9. Ah, okay. The pedaltrain PSUs are the Pedaltrain 1250 units. They have 8 outputs on each. I had 8 pedals running off one unit and 6 off the other. There are some rules about what can be plugged in where depending on how many mA each pedal uses. Pedaltrain link is here: http://www.pedaltrain.com/powertrain1250 Hopefully in the picture you can see where I have fixed them. Here is a link to a pic of the underside of the pedaltrain: http://s17.postimg.org/7x6gr3fq7/WP_20151106_18_55_18_Pro.jpg
10. I once played with a fuction band where the guitarist put his camcorder on top of a PA speaker so it had the front of the stage / band area in its field of vision and he recorded every gig like that in case of any accidents or disputes. I'd forgotten about this until this thread. Probably easier now with mobile phones and dashcams, too.
11. That said, I have a ridiculously over-powered rig for pub gigs with a 1200w / 2ohm going into 2 4x10 cabs. I only have the volume set to 1/3 but the sound is beautiful and I can play my bass very gently without being unheard.
12. My 250w combo is super-efficient and has lots of oomph and also has the option to attach another cab to halve the ohms/double the noise.
13. I know what you mean. I wish that I played the piano as well as I do the bass. For my whole life I have been impressed by my father's ability to open any piano score and play it straight. He is very old now and his timing and sight reading skills are fading fast, but still...
14. My big brother had one, but I didn't.... Oh, the horror!
15. Okay, lets organise a creepy stalker trip to Denmark to perv on the TC staff. Sign up below!
16. I even wince when the bass is flat on the ground.
17. We are all glad to have been of service.
18. I was mesmerised by the optical illusion making his drumsticks look bendy.
19.
Slagging off McCartney. 'Forgive them father, for they know not what they do.'
Ha ha ha ha!
