1.
would it be faie to say that you are a status and lakland fan ??
Simple answer : yes Only slightly more complicated anwser: I love the versatility of the J/MM pickup config, hence the 55-02s and 55-94. Sandbergs and Clovers with the same config (or P/MM) would also work for me but are much less common. The Statuses have always just happened along at the right time. The eclipse was the first fiver, the S1 was a natural follow-on as the first fretless, Shark came along at a very reasonable price for a backup 5, etc.
 2. I've renewed a few of the photos so here's a repost of my little collection (nobody minds, do they ?). In approximate order of how often they get played: Lakie 55-02 Status Shark Fretless 5 Status S1 Rob Allen Deep 5 (more pics HERE) BSX Allegro ... Lakland 55-94D Status Electro Lakland 55-02 Status Eclipse '79 Precision (more pics HERE) Andy
 3.
1: Line6 Relay G50 - TC E Polytune Mini - Tech 21 VT Bass - Mooer Pure Octave, all on a Pedaltrain Nano
Have you got the Pure Octave already and if so how do you find it ? I pretty much ruled it out for my tiny board, because of the warbley demos I heard (plus more reports of same).
 4. For your enjoyment. Apologies if this is well known already .... I just re-discovered and find it just as awesome as when I heard it for the first time
 5.
Compressors have always been the hardest for me to understand!
You may want to have a look at THIS. Best thing I've ever seen on compressors.
 6.
Just realised that I didn't post my NBD just before Christmas in here. Having the usual trouble uploading pics and that, but here's a link to the thread in bass guitars: basschat.co.uk/topic/194793-nbd-my-new-baby-has-arrived-at-last/page__hl__my%20new%20baby
Here's a taster ...
 7. The obsessive in me is telling me I need this to go with the black Shark II (fretless 5) I already have. I am trying to resist.
 8.
Bigbeatnut - P is there, it is all black though so may be a little difficult to see.
Aha ... see it now. Monitor at home obviously needs some adjustment.
 9. NIce result Confused about the P pickup, can't see it. Is it a poor photo (doesn't look like it) or is it deliberately hidden under the pickguard ?
 10.
Warbling and chorusing. Hmm.

Not nice
I sometimes wonder if they deliberately designed it to make that sound ... perhaps because it's useful for guitarists ? It sounds so grossly .... gross .... to me it seems unlikely to have slipped out like that by mistake. Then I stop wondering 'cos the pedal is obviously not going to work for me.
 11.
Build it myself. More details about this bass.
That's very nice.
 12. Woah, that JC is gorgeous ... but unfortunately though heart says yes, head is saying 'don't be a silly b****r you'll never play it live'. Head is winning right now unfortunately.
 13. I'm hearing rumours that we may not ever see MarcMart and the like re-stocked with Mooer's, because Mooer are unhappy about the pedals being sold at below RRP. I'm finding it difficult to square that with the fact that the number of Mooer's listed on MarcMart jumped up recently, even though the new listings don't appear to be in stock. It's almost like they're anticipating new stock. Meanwhile I'm itching to try the Blues Mood and LoFi, and I'm trying to figure whether to pay the going rate on eBay or wait for MarcMart. Anyone got any idea what's going on ? Hard info or idle speculation acceptable
 14.
That's lovely! As is your Eclipse. Oh to have some money....
Thanks Still thinking about selling the Eclipse Ltd 5 at some stage ... I've just not got around to listing it yet.
 15.
The Pure Boost is really good. I'm not sure what the centre for the bass control is, but for adding depth, a small adjustment goes a long way. I've also seen a way of attenuating my Zoom B3 signal slightly using the PB too. So this one stays.
I've seen a review on TB that suggests it's good for mild overdrive ... any views on that ? I think I must be misunderstanding mooer's use of the word 'pure' if this delivers overdrive.
 16. Wow to both of those How is the acoustic strung ? B -> C or E -> F maybe ?
 17.
Hi This is the latest layout in my pedalboard: Cheers

That is neat.

There's a classic sort of elegance about this, which the Art School bore in me is really digging. Lovely.
You're not alone ... it's very nice. The Blueberry looks tiny next to the Polytune. Is the blueberry box the same size as an MXR BOD (or Fuzz Deluxe or Bass Envelope filter) or is it even smaller ?
 18.
Quite right there ! The 'I know' bit was referring to the age-old leaving your manky strings on a P bass opus !!!!
Manky strings rule. My favourite bass is whichever one is wearing the 8-year old set of flats I have ... will need to find a way to age a new set (sorry, that's a whole 'nuther topic, I know).
 19. How did I miss this ? If the provisional sale falls through can I put myself next in line ?
 20. I think I'm gonna need a bigger board ....
 21.
Did the Sweeper turn up yet? Interested to hear what you make of it when it does.
Alright ... first impressions: looks like (not too surprisingly) we have a bassballs clone here. I was undecided if that's what it was from the pics ... the overall look and the name were right but the labelling on the small knobs (reso and range) suggested something different to the externalised trimpots of a bassballs, which control the center frequencies of two filters. But on playing with it, seems to me that's exactly what those two controls are doing, manipulating the centre frequencies of two filters ... poor labelling really, don't understand how that happened. So yeah, it's definitely in the same ballpark as a bassballs (it has that same distinctive fuzz tone) so I'm pretty happy. I haven't A/Bed it yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if this triggered the sale of my nano bassballs.
 22.
Did the Sweeper turn up yet? Interested to hear what you make of it when it does.
Finally arrived this morning. I'll be playing with it tonight so you may get a 'first impressions' post later on.
 23. Love my BMC ... really useful little pedal. Have a bump on me.
 24.
Got my old Lefay back through a trade for an Elrick...nice to hear those slides again.
Nice bass ... nice playing
 25. Still waiting for the Sweeper. The U.S. distributor said that it would be released 1st week of Jan ... hope that's not a global date because that would mean WTF were telling porkies about availability.
