1.
Really enjoyed your talk Mike, made a lot of sense in terms of what you do on your YouTube channel .
I missed the talk, can someone send post a link to the youtube channel, please ?
  2. Great Day ! Seriously, I don't know where the time went. Thanks to everyone whose gear I played, including walbassist, clarky, and Dave Swift. Great to see Fender and MarkBass in attendance, and KK Baby bass, too. It was a great size too. If they carry on being that size, with that level of attendance by makers of instruments and amplification, that would be a hard to beat formula. Well done to everyone involved in organising it
  3.
Unfortunately not - that's one reason why I didn't really persevere with it! I will bring it anyway, maybe someone else will have something we can plug it into! Pete
I'll see what I can do. I'm interested too.
  4.
30. bigbeatnut - lots of teeny pedals and a themed selection of basses Probably Status Eclipse LTD 5, Status shark 5, Status S1 5 (last two fretless); for sale: Jackson C5, and maybe Enigma Q-balls and Boss AW3
Okay, I'm going to need to cut down on that lot ... Status Eclipse LTD 5 is a definite as it was requested. Besides that I'm bringing my Fretless 55-02 + possibly another, maybe BSX Allegro 4. Small pedals, but just one boards-worth.
  5.
Zip disk, Floppy disk & VHS Face labels are around the right size.
Staying unashamedly 20th Century, then ?
  6. Okay, the 6-string spector can be found at Cash Converters, Chapel Street, Islington, for anyone interested.
  7.
Depends where it was made, and what they are asking. In the photo it looks like £425?
Surprised you could read that
Bargain of the century if it is a US or a Euro (highly unlikely!!). If it is one of the various far east incarnations, it varies from a good deal to a fair price. More info needed!
I have no idea how to recognise the country of origin of a Spector. And I won't be going past the shop again till next Saturday at least. I will say this though, the quilt is a fairly thin veneer and fades out at the edges, somewhat like the far-eastern-made varieties of Lakland. So I suspect it's not one of the premium models, yes. Apart from that, the only thing I can tell you is the location of the shop. I'll spill the beans tomorrow. I saw the bass near closing time Saturday, and they don't open Sunday, I suspect it will be there for a bit yet.
  8. Don't own a Spector bass myself, but there's a Spector 6 with a quilt maple top in my local Cash Converters (London), and I thought somebody should know. I have no idea if it's fairly priced, but it seemed a reasonable price for any kind of 6 to me. What's the fairest way of doing this so everyone has a chance .... broadcast the location right here ? Some other subforum ?
  9.
12.15 - 13.00 'The Baby Bass' - Presentation and talk by Kris Kedzior, Founder, Baby Bass http://baby-bass.com/
Uh-oh ... major gas attack (for something that will never get gigged) coming on ...
  10.
I am however, very disappointed with the Oxide. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but for me there's two useable sounds in it, and even those aren't very useful because the thing is so damn quiet, with fuzz and drive maxed I've had to boost the gain on the LS-2 to bring it up to unity. Why would you build a quiet fuzz pedal? Maybe I'm missing something, it is an early 1'st edition (#6 in fact) so he may have fixed it on later runs, but it's definitely not for me. Going to go back to the lovely loud mastotron.
The maker is quite active on talkbass, and there are a bunch of IE fans over there. You may want to share your experiences/questions with them. You may even find the maker will fix it, he seems keen to do the right thing by owners of his pedals.

Walbassist - Veillette Archtop fretless 5, Sandberg VT5 and BSX Allegro 5
Mmmm again, interested to see each one of those (hope I'm not repeating myself).
  12.
.... and possibly also my Ampeg Baby Bass
Mmm, I've not met one of those in the flesh, I'll be seeking you out I think. Maybe I should bring my BSX EUB ?
  13.
if anyone coming with a nice 5 string they might like to sale let me know!!

For the last few years we've had a 'For Sale' area in the foyer which has worked out quite well. Equally, people have brought stuff along and displayed it alongside where they end up siting their rigs, which this year should be in the large hall.
I have a Jackson C5 that was bought as a budget option. No use for it now. It has a couple of dings but it's a nice player, feels great. Might suit anyone who wants to experiment with a 5er. First dibs to hen_barn. I should really thin out the envelope filters a bit too. Enigma Q-balls might be up for sale. Maybe Boss AW3, too.

  15.
I'd like to see things like second-hand strings weeded out beforehand.
While I'm a huge fan of old, old, strings (my 'best' set is 8 yrs old) I concur that I would not be too keen on taking on strings with other people's surplus bio matter embedded. I'd assume this sentiment is mutual.
  16.
love that. this live Maceo is great
Gotta love Maceo
  17.
Where is this made?
I'm fairly sure the move to Indonesian production happened well before the 'burst and flame maple combination happened. They still finish these (fret levelling, new strings and more) in Chicago though. More on skylines HERE.

    Kev's Feedback

Just bought a couple of boutique pedals from Kev. Very happy with the way things went. He was keen to post the pedals fast, keen to know they'd arrived and keen to know I was happy with them. Which I am. Great deal, great comms, can't ask for more, can you ? Cheers, Kev
  19.
Apologies if it wasn't clear - I thought you might already have an inkling that some sort of bass guitar relay had been happening on Basschat (many of us do go on about it a bit, after all! ). The FB page is http://www.facebook.com/BcBassRelay.
No probs, and sorry if I came over a bit grumpy. I did have an inkling, but no idea of the details of how it worked. It was evident from the thread it was widely talked about ... I just couldn't find out how it worked.
  20.
BigBeatNut - here you are, full thread with all 771 replies - and counting http://basschat.co.u...s-relay-thread/
That was a bit hard to figure out from the thread .... I did eventually discover the Justgiving page which had an explanation, though. Thanks.
  21.
The mini is the ONLY PT board Mono don't do a case for, and have no plans to do so, plus no hard case options, so what do you do???
That's bizarre ... I can't think of a reason they'd miss that one out. Does anyone know anything about relative sales volumes ? Is the mini the least popular PT product ? I can't imagine it would be.
  22. I dunno, not everyone is bringing a rig and basses, so maybe it won't be a problem ....
