1. That's a Xmas bargain for someone ... Considerably less than what I paid for my fretless one.
2. Just realised I didn't post pics of my new (to me) Shark I acquired in June. Or at least I don't think I did, apologies for the repost if so. Still thinking about moving on my Eclipse Ltd 5 if anyone's interested. Andy
3. Just took a punt on a sweeper from WTF ... I wonder what chance of it arriving for Xmas ? Discount code still operating, BTW.
4. That mostly sounds relatively straight forward, provided no textual analysis is required. E.g. Distinguishing sold from unsold items in the marketplace and determining prices (in the marketplace) is going to be fraught with problems and I wouldn't even want to start (not 'cos it's not possible, but because it'll never be precisely 100% accurate and it'll be a job which never finishes to everybody's satisfaction). I'm also including in that 'what the most popular items are'. Unless by items you mean something precisely identifiable like subforums. Determining if more people are discussing (or selling) Squiers or Sadowsky's will be hard to do accurately unless those are segregated into subforums. However, league tables of posters, league tables of popular forums and sub-forums, all of those things must have hard definitions in your database, and I'm sure reporting on them shouldn't be too hard ... creating a spreadsheet to which I'm sure you could add all the piecharts and animations that you wanted. If that's of use, I'm volunteering ... PM me.
5.
Oh we would have loved to have done that. Problem is...there are no analysis tools available with the modules. Everything would need to be coded which would need funding.
What kind of analysis tools do you envisage would help ? I can't get involved in coding for the site itself (I can see that being never-ending and I have a full time job), but if you want some stats directly from your database (e.g. number of for sale threads, views per thread, average duration of thread) I could probably do something for you if you have a fairly focussed idea of what you want. PM me.
6. No analysis tools ? Maybe i'm missing WOT's point but we do have opinion polls as a standard part of the forum don't we ? An opinion poll before coding began might have saved expenditure by not starting on the (apparently not very popular) classifieds section. Actually ... it's perfectly possible there was a poll and I missed it. Apologies if so.
7. A pedaltrain mini looks as if it would be spot on for what you have there. You may want to double check with THIS . It doesn't really take account of the space needed by jacks very well, but it should give you a rough idea ... that'll hopefully confirm a PT mini will work. EDIT: Things might get a bit challenging with the 3 jacks per side on the LS-2 ... I use 'pancake' right angle jacks to make the most of space but the jack sockets are so close together on the LS-2 that won't work ... you'd need normal right angles for one out of the 3..
8.
have at y'all with this
That is one very cool drummer
9.
Guys .. I've said a few times now, items under £100 or so will be free to list.
Sorry, I missed that. Very long thread and I didn't read every single post. I did, in fact, fall asleep reading it, though that's probably not directly attributable to the thread itself.
10. My 2 pen'oth: Things that work for me: Tiered membership system, on the TB model. Lowest (free) tier get no rights to starting marketplace threads. Tiered advertising rights; Maybe free ads under £30 (in a subforum for that purpose) else £2 per ad maybe and a higher tier for say items over £300. (Tier levels are somewhat arbitrary choices). A yearly fee for advertising, provided there are lower tiers to allow people to sell items around the £15-£25 mark without huge expense. Things that don't work for me: Yearly fee for advertising with no other options. There are plenty of years gone by where I've sold less than £50 worth of goods in the forums. Paying to read adverts. The new classifieds section (for all the reasons cited by others). And on bumping: Why is it such a problem ? If you just want to see new threads (as I sometimes do) you can sort the forums by thread started date. Problem solved.

15.
on my android phone, I've no longer got the mobile version of the site. I can click away on the 'use mobile version' button forever and I still get the mini version of the computer based site. Gosh darn it! Is it just me...?
No, it's the site, not you. There are a couple (maybe more) of threads on the topic e.g. this one.
16. It's a photo posted by max in the SFX thread. My guess is that it's a photo of yours before he sent it out.
17.
I'm probably going to place an order from WTFaccessories shortly, and they also have a discount code that is especially effect if you buy 2+ pedals together using their bundle deal.
I hadn't looked at the bundles before but this one is particularly effective: http://www.wtfaccessories.com/bundle-4pcs-joyo-pedals-jf-01-jf-39.html Just to try it, I put together a sample order and the mooers came out at just under £23 per pedal .... provided you wanted 4. At that price, if you took a risk on something, I'd say there's a fair chance of flipping an unwanted pedal on eBay and recovering all your costs
18. To extend the metaphor, I don't really have problem with the shops being in the alleyway (I completely understand that motivation is revenue to be fed into basschat improvements) but I am bothered about the transition where I need to visit the alleyway AND the high street, doubling my shopping time. But I also appreciate the point about integration.
19. Ped, I'm pretty sure you don't understand my source of frustration with the current transitional system, so I'll spell it out. As a buyer, say I spend 30 minutes per day on the forum market place. In the present transitional phase that means I then have to spend another 30 minutes repeating my searches in the new classifieds section, and i need to do this because, in the absence of any recommendations from basschat mods, I can't predict whether sellers are going to post only in classfieds, only on the marketplace (forums) or both. Being absolutely clear, the absence of a Basschat policy for sellers is doubling the amount of time I, and I presume every other buyer on basschat, is having to spend on the site. That was what was behind my questions. But rather than asking you again to answer them, why don't I get straight to it and make my own RECOMMENDATION Sellers, please make sure that if you post an advert in the new classifieds, that you also post at the least a link to your classified in the old marketplace. An informative title plus a link is all that's necessary, to save all the potential buyers have to spend time searching both classifieds and market place (forums) in the transitional phase. End of Recommendation That's a personal recommendation as it stands, but I'd be more than happy for basschat to adopt it, or something else that fullfils the same needs. Thanks to anyone already doing this and thanks in advance to anyone who starts doing it having read this post. Andy
20. Sorry, Ped, you didn't answer a single one of my questions. 'Or what ?' Doesn't count as a question but I'd like to know about the others.
21.
The plan is to use it for a month (from full completion) and then have a feedback sesh. Look forward to hearing opinions then,
I'm slightly confused about what we're supposed to do as buyers and sellers. As buyers do we have to look in both places now ? I mean, are sellers being asked to post in both the forum and the classifieds ? Can I rely on finding any given for-sale item in the forums when I search ? Or is there a recommendation to use classifieds only from now on ? Or ... what exactly ?
22. Broken here, too, right now.
23. If you take a look at the Mooer Audio site, 8 of those new pedals are marked as 'coming soon' which lends support to my idea that sites were advertising them when Mooer were not ready to supply them. That might be Mooer to blame or the advertiser, hard to say.
24.
Likewise. Fuming. Disgusting customer service!

Looks like I'm not getting mine now :-( a week after ordering I'm told its not in stock :-(
You guys both ordered one of the 'new' pedals right ? I have a suspicion (and I could be wrong 'cos I'm not going to search every forum to prove it) that in a lot of cases they were advertised when no stock was actually available. Marcmart suddenly withdrew the whole bunch of new pedals one day. I know some of the new pedals have been delivered, but an awful lot of people are getting emails saying 'wait till December 15th'. I think they were never actually available.
