Frankly i didnt see anything wrong with the bottom horn, but also nothing really wrong with Kiwis post, I glanced over it. Didnt seem amiss. I have had far worse things said about my basses and i didnt blink an eye and no one got in trouble for it. But because Kiwi said it, its "the worst thing to happen in the world omfg". Also i believe Bass_ferret should really give up. The comments he mostly makes under his "New" accounts, are there to undermine BC and to further the rift between BC and FB. Though what i will say is that i dont believe basschat members make underhand comments and undermine users or moderators on Finnbass.com, so why do finnbassers decide to do it here? Its an internet forum for christsakes. (It may seem biased from a BC moderator, but this what it appears to me (Though i could be wrong)). I think its childish for this issue to have come up. I dont see why the whole basschat/finnbass thing has to spill over in the public arena as its a childish way of having an argument, regardless of who started what and when. Supposedly grown men and women from both BC and FB bickering is a disgrace whether its in an overt or covert form. What i will say in Finn's defense, was that i was not banned or blocked from Finnbass when i became a moderator here. Finn has been to my flat, and hes a really nice guy. I just wish i didnt have to put in the middle of two sets of friends. Both sets of friends have made mistakes in the past and rash decisions. But i dont see how these mistakes have anything to do with this thread or even present day. Anyway, rant over. Either way, the Op has a lovely bass. I wish i had the money to buy it! EDIT: Furthermore, if anyone has a problem with my post above, dont post here, PM me. Which would be the most mature thing to do when someone has a problem with someones posts (Or alternatively PM me on Finnbass. Same username.) Considering the bass has now been withdrawn, i will now close this thread.
Just a tentative suggestion, but if you're interested I've got a Shukified Geddy Lee (custom neck by Jon Shuker plus a number of other mods + ramp, I can send specs if interested) and a defretted and epoxied Fender US J-bass. Both in black. Mark
No thanks mate Need 5 strings+ cheers -
Not quite you're thing? What're you looking for now? Mark
Whatever floats my boat possibly I may keep it, i just want to see whats out there that might tempt me more. I am considering modifying the bass, but it would be a permanent mod that would damage the value of the bass. (Make it Robified with epoxied neck + EMG pups and pre-amp.) -

Ok just to clarify what i may like in terms of trades. 2 Musicmans, one must be a 5 string A status 5/6 + Cash Fretless 5's or 6's plus cash. Fender P or J 5 string AM deluxes (In black) plus cash or fretless. Custom shop basses must be 5 or 6 string. The Pedulla comes with its original case and documentation. -
I can see that mntl73 was out of order, but what did gareth do?
Already way ahead of you, just been checking the old posts and i dont see much problem from Gareths posts. I am rescinding his warning publicly. I have to hold up my hands to that "Administrative" error ;-) Very sorry for that Gareth mate! N00b moderator alert!
You'd be surprised at how many people I know who have bought a guitar and had a set of pickups dropped straight in without ever playing the thing first - usually for EMGs. No reflection on yourself naturally, but me mind boggles.
Yeah, Admittedly i had the intention upon buying it to fit EMG's as i love the sound of EMGS that only EMG's could do. But i did give the SD's a good 3 week trial and decided they werent for me, Nothing wrong with them, but not for me! So i got a set of Zakk Wylde EMG's put in and couldnt be happier ( Until i can sort out the 18volt mod)
Open coils or covers? Did you try them out before you put the EMGs in? I'm just interested to know what they sound like as most of the stuff I've read recommends them both for use in the bridge position paired with an SH-2
Yes of course i tried them out before putting the emgs in, although they are high gain pups, they dont seem to like heavy downtuning much (Tuned down to Whereas the EMGs love downtuned stuff. The TB-4 is actually the correct pup for the bridge position, but i didnt realise it. They are open coils.
Just checked, and if anyone doesn't know they are high output humbuckers. I'm more into single coil pups these days .... RR5, is that a Jackson Randy Rhoads?
Yup I am not sure how in love with it i am at the moment, its the ivory/gold one. Who knows i may put it up for sale sometime
