1. I got a lovely pink/maple westfield P. £60 shipped and its brilliant for the money! My most used bass at the moment (Though not at gigs)
2.
These basses are all created by David Cirtain. He's a one-man-factory. He takes yer makes them to order. I asked for a lefty neck on a righty bass & he obliged (and charged me accordingly for putting the fret-markers on te other side of the neck ...)
Well if you count created as "Parts ordered through to him and assembled by him" then sure. Pretty sure the majority of parts were sourced in China until recently.
3. I would seriously take this to the Ernie Ball forums...
4. I can hear the bass, its just there is very little definition. Have you raised this with your band?
5. Thanks for the kind words folks! Arrived just today are the Dimarzios and the Hipshot Ultralites. Just waiting on another pot cover from Warmoth (Forgot to order a third when I opted for a P-J config). A Fender Corona neck plate and screws and some dunlop straploks. I cant wait for the bass to be done, Ultra bright toned beast through a Sansamp VT bass deluxe. Here is the reason why I went for a bright sounding P bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MbSb2f7MP0
6. Hey guys. Heres the body and scratchplate! Neck doesant sit flush into the body, but sure that can be sorted out with some sanding. Or i could muck around with the scratchplate... 7. Hey guys! From the guy who brought you, "How to ruin a perfectly good if well used Pedulla Custom shop MVP5" (See here) Comes a new project to excite and appall. Take one 1979 Gibson Grabber that has seen better days and one somewhat insane OCD guy who hates damage that hasent been caused by himself, strip the paintwork, remove the frets, remove all of the neck finish, sand the fingerboard down flat, add new frets, refinish in Black, get decent bridge and play! This is what it's like currently. I already got a new black scratchplate from Pickguard heaven which fits like a glove! At the moment I am struggling to find a bridge that is low profile enough to fit onto it without the action being too high, any suggestions? May also consider Hipshot ultralites to help with the neck dive.... Rob.
8. Hey guys! My parts are in the UK! Though I was out when they were to be delivered, doh! So I went with. Ultra lightweight maple Antigua precision bass body,P-J with 70's position jazz pickup rout. Maple/Maple Mighty mite neck, Dimarzio Will Power Middle and Dimarzio Ultra Jazz bridge pickups. Gotoh 201 Bridge, Hipshot ultralite chromes. Heres the Mighty Mite neck. With any luck, will have it together within 2 weeks!
9. Strike Anywhere, Gibson Grabber through SVT, great tone!
10.
It's most definately not a wimpy jazz neck I'll give you a clue... It's green!
*Sigh* Its the Neutrik locking jacks, I should know because it was me who got it installed on that Myung bass.
11. Not really interested in routing into the body. Did it before but really ruins the body.
12.
The Schaller 3D is probably the lowest around. G.
I have one on my Pedulla, it seems quite thick to me, the fingerboard on the Grabber is quite flat and with the curved baseplate on the Schaller probably wouldnt be the best choice!
13. Hey guys. I need a low profile bridge replacement for my Gibson Grabber. The current bridge has a very thin baseplate which restricts my options (And I would prefer to run without a shim if possible. The bass is getting a refret and fretboard level, so its a very touch and go subject if I can use something thats not the original bridge. So whats the thinnest (Or smallest barrel bridge peice) bridge I could buy? Cheers! Rob.
14. Would love to see some better photos!
15.
What does the existing bridge look like? Hipshot make replacements for the Gibson 2 and 3 point bridges. There's also someone in the US making a replacement 2 point bridges (without the tail piece) as found on the original Gibson Thunderbirds. Any of those suitable?
Nope its a bit of Bent tin, sorta Fenderish but with slightly tighter string spacing. See photos of Gibson grabbers for an idea.
16. Hey guys. Just got a Gibson Grabber through, but the bridge is a bit damaged. What aftermarket bridges have you used on your grabbers? Anything that will line up with the current string thru bridge? Also, the seller was a bit economical with the truth about the condition of the bass. It needs a refret and the maple wear looks worse in real life (So maple will be sanded back) Probably gonna go for a nice hard gloss finish on the neck as well. New scratchplate is in the post! Cheers in advance! Rob.

18.
Zon?
Nope!
19. This little minx is incoming from the states (In customs). Been after one for a while, it comes with a non original badly cut pickguard, however for a Vintage bass its in reasonable nick. Ordered a new pickguard from pickguard heaven. On second glance, the frets look somewhat well used but cant tell with the small photos. Should be with me end of the week! Take a guess what it is! Rob.
20. Ok sounds good. additionally, what position do you think this is?
21. Another great transaction with Matt, bought my ATK off of me and popped to Swindon to pick it up! Even put up with me answering the door half naked with little sleep!
22. Hey guys. Ordering a Warmoth body, I was wondering do standard Fender P-J basses just put the J pickup in the standard position or in the 70's reposition? Cheers! Rob.
23. Would probably take the tele if I can get it posted.
24. Hey guys. Last week I ordered a body from Warmoth. I already have a Maple/Maple Mighty Mite precision neck with Fender decal. The body is... Ultra lightweight Maple, otherwise standard precision body in Antigua burst with matching scratchplate. I have some CTS pots, Gotoh 201 bridge and other assorted hardware to put into it. What I really need now is a Dimarzio Willpower or similar pickup, Hipshot ultralite tuners, neckplate and screws. Will keep you updated!
25. Mr Franklin with a plectrum, fretless Jaydee, playing 80s hair metal. Awesome!
