1. Believe it or not, some of us never planned to play live, be it Donington, our local or a jam session in a friend's living room, when we picked up a bass for the first time. Some of us love working out basslines by ear - while at the same time discovering and analysing the structure of the song, and opening it like a little box of fascinating tricks. Once we've done that, we play along to it until we get it right/can't get it wrong, then punch the air and go "Yess!". Repeat ad infinitum, or for as long as fingers and ears keep functioning
2. Excellent! I hope I'm wrong and there is no age limit in his mind, and that that's a cool project. Keep us posted, Sarah PS, no you're not non-photogenic.
3. Nah, I'm not a DB player after all - never had the honour of meeting a lefty DB so far. And the guy's probably looking for a photogenic 20-something anyway.
4. A female double bass player for a photography assignment? To be a model, to be a photographer, or to be portrayed while playing? Would be curious but can't apply, as i'm upright-rich but double-bass poor...
5. I have "unapproved" the post with the wrong date, and a Global Mod will delete it - that way, you'll get any replies on to this thread only
6. This is another awesome thread. All the best, Shell, and of course your rhythm section will Raawwk Onn!! \m/ \m/
7. That. Is. Awesome. Great to hear you're back into live music, and props to your wife, who is clearly your soulmate. Keep us posted
8. Excellent! I'm still watching this, and I'm ready to tweet the project when you start it
9. Bloggy entry about the Jools-style night at the Tabard mentioned a couple of posts above: http://wp.me/p2ZbyY-bK
10. That's one cool photo! Great stuff - yes, let's have more, please
11. New Years Eve 2013 gig at The Anglers in Teddington http://www.flickr.com/photos/bluejay_my_photos/11706494774/in/set-72157639306555873
12. Thanks for that C'mon, tell us something more about the supergroup!
13.
They are still playing guitar and have yet to discover the power of the light side of the force
What he says! Or they are simply using FB and Twitter etc.
14.
The sweat from John Entwistles ballbag, Geezer Butlers moustache trimmings and Sid Vicious' spit, mixed up and sieved through the gap in Fleas front teeth, but I couldn't say what the ratios are, it's a closely guarded secret .

WD40 then
Probably!
15. From the label: 'Contains white mineral oil. Non-toxic.'
16. Love it on Chromes and TI Jazzes. It will make them sound slightly brighter. And I think it allows me to play a tiny little bit faster with a little less string noise.
17. Apparently there was a massive private party in the village, to which 70 of their regulars were going, and the pub would have been empty. Despite one of us dropping a dozen posters with contact info at the pub a few days ago, and the band having been contacted and booked before by the same management, apparently they had no telephone number, email address or other way to get in touch before we arrived at the venue.
18. The gig was cancelled by the management at the very last minute! We were only told as we rolled up the driveway in our cars, ready to unoad and set up.
19. 9pm, free gig at Ye Olde Swan in Burnham - friendly, fun pub where the band had their Halloween 70s night gig at the end of October Predictable avalanche of photos and videos to follow!
20. Their FB page and website give the following: [email protected] [email protected] No other published contact details, I'm afraid.
21. Tweeted to BC's followers, and being retweeted by some of them as we speak.
22. Thanks Nige The corner where the guys were asked to set up was too small for them to bring their light show, so my camera had to do with the very limited amount of light already there. 'Twas great fun, though
