  1. Never used one myself but yes it looks like exactly what you need. The power will be split equally; so if 300W was coming out of the amp, each cab will get 150W.
  2. Using the two sockets on the back of a cab will create a parallel circuit. You'll want to use something designed specifically for speakers due to the higher currents involved.
  3. Yes, I think that is the case. Anyway, I sold it a while back, and now using the 732-A - it's twice the price though. With my playing style/volume/band and 18 months of use now, I'm certain I'm not going to get near its limits. In fact for quieter gigs it's barely ticking over, and so just a few days ago I picked up a QSC CP8. I was tempted since the CP8 is particularly small (41cm x 26cm footprint) and light (9.5kg). Have not used it yet, but I wonder if it will do ok for monitoring, particularly if I high-pass it around 120Hz, using the spill back from the subs to fill in the lower frequencies. And/or on quieter jazz gigs which are sometimes just trios with piano and vocals. I've never used an 8" speaker so should be interesting and will report back. BTW all the above is when I'm not using in-ears for whatever reason, which is nowadays my first choice.
  4. I've sometimes used an RCF HD 10-A mk4, which seems similar to the 310-A mk3. The HD 10-A costs a bit more but I'm not completely sure what the technical difference is. The voice coils are different, apparently. Anyway, my feeling over time (both as backline and as a personal monitor) was that it was mostly fine, but on the few occasions when I needed to push it, it was losing something. I never heard it distort, but I wonder if a limiter or similar was starting to kick in, as to me it sounded slightly muffled, or less rich/full.
  5. Lowered to £100 incl postage.
  6. Literally the same - I could have written this 😀 Miss my BB, but loving the Sandberg as a gigging bass.
  7. 1. Blend knob (or a selector switch) 2. Tone knob. No volume control.
  8. Have you excluded the Super Compact from consideration? I just mean that the Super Compact is the smaller version of the Super Twin, more than the Big Baby 2 is.
  9. Is that the BB800? What don't you like about it?
  10. It is the SL line ("super light"). Depending what you're looking for, Thomann have a couple with other finishes: e.g. https://www.thomann.de/gb/sandberg_california_ii_sl_tt_5_tb_pf.htm
  11. The router wifi is password protected.
  12. Yes, looks like a Big Baby - the one without a tweeter. https://web.archive.org/web/20110917030847/http://barefacedbass.com/index.php?page=big-baby
  13. Thanks - I'll give it a go at the next opportunity.
  14. The stereo setup sounds cool. We're normally an 8- to 10-piece band, so including FOH, with 14 outputs perhaps I might be able to snag a spare second channel for myself, to try out stereo monitoring. Is it easy enough to set up stereo monitoring just for me, without affecting the other settings? Everyone else (IEM or floor monitors) would remain mono. Bandleader (who is also the sound person) is completely accommodating and into the tech - but he also has many tasks to do at the gig so don't want to ask him if it's going to be too much an extra thing for him to have to deal with.
  15. That is very light. I had a look at Sweetwater website and the four they have are around 9lb. The 6lb one be an outlier - does it balance ok?
  16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGNR-gv0sRI "Do I Do" is a great song and the bass part is quite tricky with a mix of groove section, syncopated line with the horns, and some exposed improvisation. Even Nathan Watts can't play it perfectly! (Very very very slight trip-up around 0:49)
  17. One thing on your typical hollow body to watch out for is balance/neck dive, due to the lack of upper horn (so the strap pin ends up in a non-optimal place), and the longer neck (because of the saddle position compared to a solid-body bass). Obviously the last point is more pronounced on a long-scale instrument.
  18. When inserting, are you stretching your ear up using your other hand?
  19. Sorry, but you're only allowed to pick two out of three... Which is the least important?
  20. What is the issue with the guitarist's setup? You can't hear him on stage?
  21. It seems inefficient to pair a 900W amp with a single 12ohm cab, as like you say you're effectively turning it into a 300W amp. In that case, the GR Bass Mine One would be about the same volume but save £500. My understanding is that the 12ohm option is more for when using multiple Two10s (three 12ohm cabs = 4ohms). Barefaced website says "safe with up to 800W if you're running fairly clean sounds". I used to run a 600W @ 8ohm amp with a One10 so I think you'd be fine using the T900 with a 4ohm Two10 - just don't cane it.
  22. EQ is generally an active control (offering both cut and boost) and so no I wouldn't expect it to work in passive mode. What are your other basses which have EQ in passive mode? Are they a G&L by any chance? (Which is the only bass I can think of right now which has passive high and low EQ i.e. cut only, no boost.) On the other hand a tone control (like on a P bass) is a purely passive control - but most people wouldn't refer to it as "EQ" (even though I suppose it technically is EQ i.e. it's affecting the response at certain frequencies).
  23. I'm quite similar: bass → Mojomojo → Microbass 3 → RCF 👍 I think one thing to be aware of with your ART setup is that changing its volume will also affect the signal you're sending to the desk.
  24. Yes, I also wonder if the much older tablets might struggle - e.g. Mini 2 is from 2013. Myself, I got an iPad gen 5 (2017) as I'm also using the tablet for sheet music so wanted the larger display.
  25. Yes, I do exactly this and it's great; I since sold all my bass amps and cabs. If your preamp of choice doesn't have independent volume control, you can put a clean boost pedal between the preamp and the powered speaker.
