1. Hi Yorkielowdown, Welcome to BC! Sorry, have no idea about your question, but maybe you're more lucky if you search the fora for them (upper right on the forum pages). The Rockinbetter has been mentioned lately, and I seem to remember people weren't that impressed. Enjoy your stay! best, bert
2. Hey Chivalry, Welcome to BC! Me, I got hooked maybe 40 years ago, but only bought my first bass last year. Love it, and am selling all my keyboards. Let your fun continue, both on bass and on BC! best, bert
3. Hi Rob, Welcome to BC! You'll fit right in. All the signs are there. It's a great place to learn too: with the help from people here, I can now play just about every song ever written for the open E, and will soon advance to ... er ... something else. Enjoy! Oh, and you know there are no stupid questions, right? Only stupid people asking questions on here at any rate. best, bert
4. One thing I didn't get was that the SPB-3 pups looked like a set of SJ5-3s. Does this mean the SPB-3s come in different forms? best, bert
5. Thanks for the link! Twas a nice read, and I loved the sound of the bass. best, bert
6.
I did change the white scratch plate for a grey tort one, the tone , response, intonation, sustain, output, coolness were all much improved.
Bollocks! You must've known you wouldn't get away with this. Only red or burgundy tort will do that. best, bert
7. My last band: bass, drums, singer, keyboards (no gtr, mind) I fondly remember: Mother's Finest: Baby Love Sting: Set Them Free best, bert
8. Enter Norwegian bassist Maya Vik: or is it better without the bass? best, bert
9. Pure improviser, Miles made me that way. Licks make me feel like I'm living in the past, I want to be individual Pure improviser, Miles made me that way. 10. Hi Skinnyman, You made the right choice indeed, and I mean BC, not EB, SG or unmentionable RB, though of course those are right choices in their own right. Boy I need to learn to put things into words differently. I can confirm Telecaster enemas do not last, and are counterindicated as well. In expensive private clinics, one uses pointy things like Dean guitars or the occasional Cort Gene Simmons Axe. You're welcome. Anyway, enjoy! best, bert
11. Veronica Maggio: "Jag kommer". Swedish pop the way I like it. Also music I'd love to play the bass to in my own band, simple as it may be.
12. Have you contemplated a stair climber? One like these is yours for £49 incl. postage on evilbay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180985059551?_trksid=p5197.m1992 best, bert
13. Hi Bassmoof, Welcome to the site! I like the idea of another Grabber being rescued. Good luck with that. Enjoy! best, bert
14. Hi Kai, Stay around and you'll learn a lot. I know I do. best, bert
15.
back to the original one and then going - 'yeah that's it - perfect!'
Oh yeah! That's a classic, that one. I find it especially funny with classicalish singers who get parts that are written for the standard ranges, and thusly normally should fit them. best, bert
16. Yup! In the column to the left of the listing, under the Location heading, you can check the "UK only" box. best, bert
17. Oh, and learning a keyboard instrument. Main instrument, keyboard, and drums. BLISS! best, bert
18. Yes, it is. I will be doing it myself in some thirty years from now. Watch this space. I seriously believe playing the drums as well as you can in addition to a musical instrument (couldn't hold myself) is one of the best things to do. At any rate, one normally won't play the main instrument any more than 5 or 6 hours a day, so that leaves a lot of time for learning to play drums. Don't gimme no crap about jobs and kids, please. You've only got one lif Sorry, kids shouting BRB
19. Willkommen bei BC! So ein Aksident kann nicht schlecht sein. Wir möchten dass du das www.Saiten enjoyen! Viel Spass! bassed, bert
20. Hey Steve, Welcome to BC! Great gear and GAS you got. Enjoy your stay, and don't be a stranger. best, bert
21.
A good swipe (or two, for stubborn cases...) should get the hint across..? Better still with a long-scale; more leverage...
Sigh... I'm sick and tired of these hateful postings. You should know very well that it's rather low life to give the bassist all the disadvantages of the leverage, and the keyboardist the advantages: The nerve! best, bert
22. Wow. What a story, and how telling it is. I'm sorry for your loss, Pete, and can relate somewhat. As to Gareth, what can one say? Pure class, though not D. Thanks for sharing, both. best, bert
23. Thanks, boys! Great stuff, and inspiring at that. One of these days I'm gonna learn to play bass. BTW, in my book, Dusty has great timing. best, bert
