1. For me, a P has that sound of coming home to the cosy, comfy past. I love doing a P on my cricket bat. My "career" started in '80 or '81 with a P copy that I suppose may have been a Cort. It wasn't as bad as most P copies hanging in music shops those days. Have no idea whether that one really sounded like a P, but neither that nor a real P has ever bothered me, or sounded uninteresting. That said, listening to early Rays or Streamers (or what were the old WWs called) back in the days, was a different ballgame, and a "sensation extraordinaire" much like listening to Chris Squire. Pardon my French. These days, I can't imagine living my whole life without a P, but if I'd have to choose, I'd rather live with only a Bongo than only a P - and by a large, large margin. Will get me a P though. Soon! best, bert
 2.
Nearly...it's just a 12 bar shuffle in 4/4 in G. I've never heard a semitone slide down to the V chord in the turnaround....generally on the track it's a standard chromatic walk to the chord-C,C#,D
Ah! Like me, you too missed the armadillo. best, bert
 3. Hey Mark, Welcome to BC! Nice to see another Welshy, even though you guys do tend to be half of the membership here anyway. Me, I decided in 2004 that Welshland was my second or third home country, but that was before my campervan almost was blown away at South Stack near Holyhead. Anyway, enjoy the site, and be careful getting to know people here. Dodgy people, and they'll get you smitten with bad cases of GAS disease. best, bert
 4.
or fire off an armadillo or something
Ah! The missing link. NOW I get it. 6/8 it be then. Thanks for explaining. best, bert
 5. Hehehe. Ruverry! You better be glad Leo died, or he'd join J*hn H*ll and St*rling B*ll in sueing you from here to H*ll. b*st, b*rt
 6.
Our bank this end wanted £24 for £509 changed to however many Euros. They said the bank at the other end would charge but they couldn't tell me how much .
Maybe you met the same thing as I did: that they don't know how much the other bank will charge, so they just charge you a way too high amount so they're in the clear themselves. This is why I never choose (in the netbank, in my case) that either I or the person on the other side must pay all costs. "Shared costs" is best, and when you're the paying party, you can just add some quid (I use to add between 6 and 10 quid) to cover the recipient's costs. best, bert
 7.
A mid-tempo 12 bar in 6/8 where the distinguishing feature is a semi-tone slide down to the 5 at the end of the turnaround.
May I divert the thread to ask: 1) Is this really counted that way? I'd expect stuff like that to be counted 4/4, and the punctuation to be implied. Then again, me is a classical boy. 2) the semi-tone slide down is not heard by me off YT. Is it one some versions only or is it me just being deaf? I seem to hear silence from the bass, or that it follows the guitar, twice doing a semitone up. I only ask because I want to learn about popular music and its vocabulary. best, bert
 8.
Took a real flyer and bought my Bongo. Nothing comes close for me. Oh man, I'm so happy that very few folks 'get' the Bongo.
Yeah! Shush, you traitor! best, bert
 9.
My Grandad emigrated from Norway
Sheer bollocks! Xgsjx is not a Norwegian name, and you totally lack our simplistic outlook on life.
So duz anywun want to by my Fender Skwire?
Maybe. Show your fenders, and I might take the job. Though your gender states "male", and that makes me sceptic. best, bert
 10. This db was built by Gasparo di Bertolotti, later named Gasparo da Salò, in 1576. Sadly they talk too much in the vid. Link to Norwegian newspaper: http://www.vl.no/vid...ontrabass-ut_1/ bestolotti, bertolotti
 11. Knowing both sides of unsociable hours, I can only say: Congrats, Jon! best, bert
 12.
The intro/outro on this is just the fattest groove ever.
Thanks especially for the Mandrill. I almost thought they were forgotten, and had almost forgotten them myself. Loved Mandrill the song when it came out. best, bert
 13. The text itself seems legit, as the situation he describes is a real one, but he can have a long wait before he gets the new code. Giving him your IBAN and BIC is virtually riskless. Me, I keep wondering about why people would be reluctant to give that info. It exists for that purpose. Companies like my own would have this info in each letter and e-mail. One must just make a deal about who pays international banking costs. Tip: shared costs tends to give the lowest total. When I pay to the UK, I choose "shared" and just add 8 quid to cover the recipient's costs. best, bert
 14.
I knew I should have said C major lol :-)
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Thanks for the RIMSALMAO (Rolling In My Sofa And Laughing My Ass Off) For extreme clarity: I was indeed only kidding, inspired by Mornats' new role as pupil. Happily I'm not teaching any more. best, bert
 15.
If I had £279 I'd get the new Squier Telecaster Bass
+1 and
 16. Unbelievable what a slight change to a pg will do! Body looks bigger, scale larger and even the headstock seems to grow. Other than that, I'm still strangely attracted to it, and feel like James May looking at a Susuki Swift or Dacia Sandero. Weirdly though, my body has not seen a lot of market, so I've yet almost 3K quid to go before I can order one. The Lotto maybe then. best, bert
 17.
Nice rack on the bongo player
You male chauvinist pig! It's a nice rack on the conga player.
 18.
Focus 3 is STILL on my essential ipod playlist, anonymus 2 is just awe inspiring!
You're my Prog God for all eternity - Official! Imagine you correctly spelled that "anonymus"! Presumably you're even a Brit.
I feel the same about Live at the Rainbow. Jan Akkermans playing just sends me !
You said it! One solo is even soo inspired it's guitar heaven. Can't remember which one. May be one of the Anonymi. best, bert
 19. That was good news, and lovely to read. Enjoy and good luck! ( I V IV progressions can't be done in Bb though. You'll need to transpose to F#. Matt will teach you. He knows these things. ) best, bert
 20. Discuss? You already said it. One needs to be able to use a foot to switch within the app. Dazzall. I don't know the first thing about the technology involved here, but since the docking interfaces of Apple products have lots of contacts, I'd guess this is perfectly feasible. Of so, it's only a matter of time before we get this. That said, personally I'd be reluctant to use this screen technology in live situations. I think it's most often a lot slower than physical knobs, sliders and buttons, and those also can be controlled with considerably less use of one's eyes. Love the AmpKit though, and enjoy using it when travelling - these days without an amp in my bagage. best, bert
 21. Welcome back, Ben! I've held the fortress for you that last year, so to speak. Nobody missed you! ... at least not more than they wished me away. Enjoy again, and make sure you don't get scanty, scarse or scared. best, bert
 22. Evil Undead did not make any comment about your health. Sadly, you are misrepresenting what has happened in that last post. I hope this was not intentional.
 23.
Excuse me? Isn't that a little bit rude?
If it was, then I'm truly sorry and apologise. I certainly only intended to be considerate to you and clear to other posters. As a Dutchman, I'm fully aware that we have a different set of values and sensibilities than people in the UK have, and I try to be aware of this also whilst writing on a UK based forum. I'm aware I'm not always successful in this. I felt a huge wave of harshness towards you was to be expected any minute, and I tried to make people think twice before posting. best, bert
 24. My clear impression throughout this thread is that Wishface is in bad health. If true, it's not gonna help him if we claim he just can't be arsed. That said, I think WIshface should be open about this aspect - if applicable. best, bert
 25. Great write up. Thanks! I kinda like it for some reason, and what you wrote doesn't scare either. Out to sell my body! best, bert
