The stuff I've picked up this year has all been brilliant. After stopping gigging late last year I've changed loads of stuff out (Barefaced cabs, GR amps and a cab and a MarkBass 5 string) and I've been really happy with all of the replacements.
I can't pick a winner between one of @stevie's LfSys Monaco cabs or a purple Spector Pulse 2 5 string with an Lhz preamp fitted. The second hand Bugera Veyron BV1001M that cost buttons gets an honourable mention too.
Maybe add the Neotech Mega to your list. I have one of those and also a Comfort Strapp. Both are very good. The softer foam padding and bit of stretch may suit your collarbone a bit better than a padded leather one. These both replaced Mono Betty ones and I find them more comfortable.
Amazing amp at a bargain price! I have one and absolutely love it. Big wide open hefty sound with great EQ. And a compressor that doesn't squish the dynamics too ☺️
I've experienced the same when we downtuned to D to suit the singer. Everything just sounded a bit flubby. I have a D tuner on each 4 string and that sounds great usually in normal tuning so could it be something to do with taking the tension off the neck maybe? Maybe get a Digitech Drop pedal or a new singer?
There's a Source Audio Aftershock in the classifieds. It has about 973 different flavours of drive/distortion in it......you can try loads out without buying separate pedals
A few years ago i had a USA L2000 that had a rounded off truss rod nut. I think it was a 4mm allen key one. The Bass Gallery repaired it easily without removing the rod and i seem to remember they welded a new one on
That's totally unacceptable at even a £300 level and looks like it's been made by the Saturday lad. You need to send it back for a refund and reconsider your options unless they offer it to you at a silly cheap price. You'll never be able to love it because it'll leave a bad taste. Name the builder and keep the thread updated with progress. If the builder responds positively and you reach a happy outcome it's not the end of the world for them but if it goes wrong people should be aware.
