  1. Morning all anyone heard of them one come up for sale locally not interested by the way just curious I have an old 70s Columbus P Bass which isn't very good just wondering if the Ventura are the same type of mass produced cheapo instruments that flooded the market in the 70s.
  2. Think I had this book when I first started, good luck.
  3. Never watched the documentary but when the allegations first came out it didn't surprise me.
  4. Lucky Colin....wish it was mine.....saying that i'm not worthy.
  5. A set of 50s Rock n Roll tunes I joined my first band after just 6 months of playing Bass...I had been messing round with the 12 bar stuff whilst learning some basic bits n bobs and an ad appeared in local music store "Bassist wanted for 50s Rock n Roll band" so I thought what the hell give it a bash and I surprisingly got the job....I think I was the only one lol...I blagged it to Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Elvis ect just basically played the same thing in different keys and varied it occasionally. Good luck.
  6. Noooooo…..gotta love the Blues man lol.
  7. Nah....deffo Jamerson you can tell, there was only one Jamerson the King of the Bass.
  8. True but this been a Bass Forum i'm pretty sure it would be about his Bass playing but I could be wrong....I don't doubt his talent as a musician I just don't like him or the Beatles, I think there are far better Bassists around but I am very biased
  9. Jamerson, Weeks, Cogbill. Jemmott, Rainey, Jaco. Babbitt, Jackson....just my opinion mind as I can't stand him or the Beatles
  10. I know this will rattle a few cages but I don't like him as a Bassist or person....as a Bassist he is not in the same league as the greats and as a person I think he is a bighead.
  11. Thanks for all the replies folks really appreciate it and best of luck to everyone
  12. Thanks that's true and to be honest I have flitted between Bass, Electric and Acoustic and become the typical jack of all....master of none, but been thinking things through and decided to concentrate on Acoustic as I can please myself then...as I work very unsociable hours that don't allow me to be in a band now and it gets depressing so hopefully going to learn some Acoustic Fingerstyle Blues and eventually go it alone...that's the plan lol.
  13. Thinking of calling it a day on Bass...it's been a frustrating few years been Bandless for the past 4 years and the last 2 bands I was actually Vocalist/Frontman as I started out as a singer back in the late 70s...I took up Bass about 99/2000ish very late starter but packed up in 07 and started fronting bands again, then my work got in the way hence not gigging for past 4 years and to be honest although I have tried to keep my hand in practising at home I just don't enjoy it anymore...so hoping to get back into solo acoustic stuff....I have enjoyed the Forum it's the best out there I wish you all well but enough is enough, cheers Bob x
  14. Seen UFO many times first time back in 76.....class band.
