1.
I've used other free antivirus software but the Microsoft one is excellent, although it occasionally hogs the system when you open My Documents. Like Ped, I've experienced AVG missing viruses.
Ped?! AVG seems to have problems detecting the original infecting file so I had to use hijack this to manually identify the file based on other criteria and remove it. Typically it's a file that looks out of place in the system32 or system folder.
I've also tried a number of firewalls including Zonealarm, which in one of its incarnations forced me to reinstall the operating system!. The best one, in my opinion, because it's very easy to use, has virtually no overhead, and is very reliable, is the Ashampoo firewall. Nobody has ever heard of it but it's fantastic. Trust me. Vorsprung and all that. Just my two penn'orth. (I earn a living on my PC).
Thanks for that, heard about it but never tried it. 2. We've had some great feedback to the bulk email to members about protecting your computers while online. Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to reply. Microsoft also offer Security Essentials for free - download from here: http://windows.micro...rity-essentials I've personally had issues with AVG not detecting trojans and found Norton to be deeply invasive, so ended up going with Kaspersky in on my laptop, which is a great application. I use Clamwin on the desktop PC but maybe there are other alternatives out there too. I'd be grateful if the mac owners could post their advice re: sophos and other apps they're aware of for mac as there was some great advice in some of the responses.
3. I'm kind of the same way. Main bass cost six hundred quid but my other basses vary between 1800 and 6000 quid in value.
4. Hell yes - had this on my gas list for a while. If the 2x10s aren't too engineered you should expect a lot of bark out of that speaker combination and not too much muddiness.
5. I set to instant...I feel so much more popular when I see 40 emails waiting for me in my inbox.
6. Have a sympathetic admin bump
7. Cut me own froat. Are you in a hurry to sell?
8. Jeez, someone buy this...outstanding value for money!! These basses are so underrated for music that ain't metal or rock. I'd be all over this if I didn't have house renovations to pay for.
9. If your budget can stretch, this will do the job and more very nicely. I had two GK RB115 combos for a while and they were fantastic sounding. Really honest and neutral. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/174919-gallien-kruger-rb-700-2x10-combo/
10. I've shifted it to save duplicate posts. BTW the combo has two amplifiers. One for woofers rated for 380w at 4ohms and the amp for the tweeter is rated for 75w at 4 ohms...a bit of a beast. More than enough for any gigging situation apart from large stages. Has the OP has seen this? http://basschat.co.u...lue-2x10-combo/
11. Damn, if only my house renovation wasn't bleeding me dry...
12.
I really want an ibanez sr4500e. Do much do that I was thinking of trading my Shuker for one
I would like to slap some sense into you.
13. Oh...tunING! I should read the titles more clearly...
14. Without question - Jewish wedding songs. Just mind numbingly monotonous to play on bass. I ended up on auto pilot.
15. Got way too much gear as it is, definitely don't need more. Have already succumbed to an Eventide Pitchfactor and may end up selling the other Spector NS5CR. The rest of my GAS will be self build focussed I suspect and subject to how much money I have left over for a bandsaw, custom jig and sander thicknesser after the house renovations.
16.
Just got back, no luck with Wizard pickups, says they cannot be reworked as they are epoxy dipped and he wont make replacements and the Thunderbuckers are too big and I'd have to make the pickup rout a bit bigger and Im not having that so its back to square one as I initially suspected..... buggery. Back to trawling until maybe something pops up... who knows ??
Try Aaron Armstrong? http://www.armstrongpickups.co.uk/
17. They did release a NAMM 100th Anniversary Stingray with a status neck on it some years ago but they sound more aggressive than Cutlass basses.
18. Do it...
19. Sell them to me.
20.
Are there any photos of the whole bass yet? I'm feeling mildly seasick from all the camera wobble and not much the wiser on what the complete bass looks like.
HARUMPHERUMPHARUMPHERAUMPH.... http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1
21. You're part of the furniture Phil.
22. Time to start a Basschat airmiles appeal?
23. Haters gonna hate...
24. I don't think you want it enough.
25. Nice, not many of them around. Necks all like bananas though.
