  1. I normally go on my own, as it means I can set my own schedule - arrive early to catch the first band? Fine, wait until the kids are asleep before leaving and only see the headliner? Also fine. Band kinda sucks and I want to leave early? Just go. That all being said, I've just bought tickets for Every Time I Die and The Bronx in January for me and a mate from work
  2. Yeah, I'd really like to see them live, I think Mirrors is probably my album of the year so far
  3. So far today: Melvins - Houdini Napalm Death - Utilitarian Pupil Slicer - Mirrors Coming up next, Bast - Nanoangstrom https://bastmusic.bandcamp.com/album/nano-ngstr-m
  4. Emma Ruth Rundell and Thou, again
  5. I was at that show, DT were a bit meh, LaBrie seemed completely disinterested
  6. You might enjoy this podcast, as the guest Luke booked that Testament show and his story about how his financed it is worth a listen alone 😁 https://open.spotify.com/episode/2JE35lJopFyIzFkkdObQ47?si=z5Htk9fYS32zc8n6FniO2Q&utm_source=copy-link
  7. If I need to put myself in the right frame of mind for a meeting or similar at work, I usually reach for one of these three They gee me up into, normally, a better mood
  8. Clearly just a Jane Prentiss signature model (niche reference alert)
  9. Bought a pedal from Nick, great comms, well packed, shipped fast - couldn't ask for more
  10. Could be a Dunable, not sure though
  11. As it's St Patrick's Day
  12. The debut album from London grindcore/mathcore band Pupil Slicer which came out today, great stuff https://pupilslicer.bandcamp.com/album/mirrors
  13. I'd put Gallows in the Hardcore category myself, which in itself is quite broad and crosses over with both punk and metal at various points.
  14. I think @Monkey Steve did this or a similar tuning in a fiver for a gig
  15. Mrs fosters. - Self-surgery Chelsea Wolfe and drummer Jess Gowrie playing some very 90s inspired work, genre is a bit vague but it's very good The album art is NSFW mind https://mrspiss.bandcamp.com/album/self-surgery Edit: Enjoying the swear filter here, lol
  16. Yeah, I'd really like a normal CD version of Fear Inoculum, but it looks like that will never be a thing 🙁
  17. Hunter from AFI has some great basslines
  18. Tool and Taylor Swift at the big end both didn't have their music on Spotify for a long time, they do now, so I assume they had the clout to negotiate a better deal.
  19. Added to my wishlist for tomorrow's Bandcamp Friday
  20. I used to dep for Vikki from the Ramonas in a covers band, her sister was the drummer, both great players
  21. Also, this mostly female cover of Pantera is great
  22. A bit power metal for my tastes, I prefer these ladies
  23. There's probably things in the manual they're legally obliged to print and send with the instrument, even though no-one ever reads them - RoHS statement, WEEE statement, disposal instructions, that sort of thing
  24. Also, just remembered Old Man Gloom - Mickey Rookey Live In London and Cave In - Live At Club Soda The Cave In is great as it's where they supported ISIS on their last ever show and it's the only recording I have of the song Inflatable Dream
  25. I do like a live album, since having kids I watch a lot of live sets on YouTube too rather than going to as many gigs as I'd like - set me up quite well for COVID, lol The live album I've listened to the most is probably Cave In - Live At Roadburn when they did their acoustic Caleb Scofield tribute. Others I listen to a lot are Iron Maiden - Rock In Rio, Capdown - Live in M.K. Converge - Thoudands Of Miles Between Us and AFI - I Heard A Voice
