  1. Dillinger Escape Plan - it's keeping the kids upstairs and therefore making it slightly more likely that they're tidying their rooms
  2. I've got very familiar with Wren Kitchens and DFS's hold music and if I were to hear them now would probably trigger Pavlovian rage. There was supplier I used to call quite regularly in my supply chain days in Essex who had a pub-rock CD as their hold music, Judas Priest and similar. When I complimented them on this they said it had been set by a previous employee and they didn't know how to change it
  3. When I was in a thrash band at uni, we did a gig with a death metal band where the bassist had one of those and let me use it. it was amazing, tone was like being hit in the face with a brick
  4. Brilliant basses, I do miss mine
  5. And the thing is, they seem to have lost a fair bit of that market to Darkglass. At the metal festival I worked at recently, of the band not using the house SVT 4-Pros, I think 60% were using Darkglass M900s and the other 40% Orange Terrors
  6. I'd just cut my losses and put the £200 towards a more reliable, similarly voiced amp like a Tech VT Bass 500
  7. I've not heard the Cynic yet, will give it a go. I'd strongly recommend the new albums by Urne if you're into heavy stuff
  8. How you write an album as good as Torn Arteries 30+ years into your career is beyond me
  9. I'd be fine with it, sounds like they actually know what they want and run a pretty professional operation. Doesn't mean they'd like me of course, as I have a tenancy to ignore instructions that I think don't make sense.
  10. My current top 10 of 2021 10. Zao - The Crimson Corridor 9. The Armed - Ultrapop 8. Bossk - Migration 7. Halsey - If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power 6. Urne - Serpent & Spirit 5. Dreamwell - Modern Grotesque 4. Pupil Slicer - Mirrors 3. AFI - Bodies 2. Lingua Ignota - Sinner Get Ready 1. Converge & Chelsea Wolfe - Blood Moon: I
  11. I think that may be my album of the year, I'm a big Converge fan but haven't heard loads of Chelsea Wolfe. Not sure why, I really like Emma Ruth Rundle and Marissa Nadler, but for some reason never heard much of Chelsea Wolfe..
  12. I've just ordered a Scarlett 2i2 thanks for all the input guys
  13. Since Damnation festival last Weekend, I've been listening to Bossk quite a bit
  14. I'm in the market for a simple stereo USB interface, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen seems like the obvious one, but is there anything else in the same price bracket I should consider?
  15. We have the guitarist form Asylum Affair dep for us quite often, lovely chap and a very good player
  16. Some couples don't like being in the spotlight for their first dance, I think my wife would have appreciated the brevity afforded by having Napalm Death
  17. I'm looking forward to seeing Green Lung at Damnation next weekend, they and Boss Keloid are both on the stage I'm working (though I think I'm watching someone else when Boss Keloid are on)
  18. Opened a wedding with that last weekend, works really well
  19. The new Electric Wizard track is sounding great https://witchfinderrecords.bandcamp.com/track/l-s-d Another new bassist and drummer though, Oborn must be pure murder to work with
  20. I'm assuming it's a first dance type affair? That's always tricky as couples tend to pick a song that means something to them. If it helps, when we got married we nearly went with the acoustic version of Everlong by the Foo Fighters, but in the end decided on Muse's cover of I Can't Take My Eyes Off You, mostly because it's fun.
  21. You can find a metal workers who could do it for you without too much issue, however they'd have a minimum order quantity and they'll need an engineering drawing to work off. The suggestion of bolting it to a rack shelf sounds like a good one
  22. These things seem related 😆
  23. I find there's a distinct difference in playing songs to listening to them. I'm not sure there's anything in our setlist I would choose to listen to normally, but playing them to a receptive audience is an enjoyable experience.
  24. Is there a list of mods? I'm after one who covers the sale forums in particular, thanks very much
  25. I'm very much enjoying the new Carcass album at the moment, took a couple of listens to get it, but now it really hits home.
