  1. Not nu-metal, but Paolo from Trivium has apparently recently switched from Warwick to Kiesel
  2. Yeah, it was only a 15 minute drive home last night, usually longer so have the adrenaline come down in the car. Last night I literally spent hours in bed, not falling asleep - wide awake and ended up with a headache and was just really hot, couldn't shake the heat; like I was still at the gig. I ended up taking paracetamol for my head, which probably lowered my temperature as well.
  3. Yeah, I was really hoping to see them over here, but after that footage I'm not sure I'd want to shell out for tickets, Chad's voice just doesn't seem to be able to handle this sort of thing anymore.
  4. In stark contrast to last weekend, last night was excellent. Back to the usual line up, whole band playing really well and lots of dancers for most of the night which was impressive given how hot and humid the venue was. May have got a wedding booking out of it too, so overall a really good night. On the downside, I found when I got home I simply couldn't sleep, barely slept at all, so pretty exhausted today.
  5. I think you're right looking closer, there's no screw holes and it appears to be part of the body 😀
  6. Mudvayne had their first reunion shows last night and their bassist Ryan Martinie who's been synonymous with a Warwick Thumb for pretty much all his career has switched over to Fodera. The Warwick Facebook groups are aghast. Clearly inspired by a Thumb, based on the pickup placement, but some Yin-Yang influence there too. Personally I don't love the pickguard, but it looks like a great instrument and he must be very happy with it if he's moved away from Warwick after all these years. On what little, low quality footage I found, it just sounded like Ryan, but I'm eager to hear a proper recording.
  7. We very rarely rehearse, we know each other's playing well enough that there's normally little need and can normally debut a song and it's pretty much there. We've also had a lot of deps and know how to work with them, it's usually they're better prepared than last night
  8. Not great last night, we had a dep guitarist, who whilst good, had only a couple of days to learn the set and unfortunately it showed. Nice guy, good player, but it was a bit rough round the edges last night.

    Drop C#

If you're using light gauge strings anyway, could you not just tune the 5 string up a tone?
  10. I think it's incredibly optimistic of you that this won't change again within a couple of months 😄 I remember seeing Ashdown share a photo of your rig on Facebook, it took a fair bit of self control not to point out that you'd already sold it on and were using another brand😀
  11. The new Wolves In The Throne Room Shame they've now cancelled their tour, particularly as they had Blood Incantation and Bell Witch/Aerial Ruin with them, but it was fairly inevitable.
  12. I Saw this the other day before it got taken down, I'd love to hear her collaborate with Bell Witch, who are 2 piece drums & 7 string bass/vocals doom band
  13. Came to say exactly this, except the again bit
  14. Power Trip - Live In Seattle As yesterday marked a year since Riley Gale's passing
  15. Old Man Gloom - just finished Seminar VIII and now onto Seminar IX
  16. The whole thing is lovely, but that fretboard is wonderful
  17. Thou - Rhea Sylvia Lovely grunge influenced sludge https://deathwishinc.bandcamp.com/album/rhea-sylvia
  18. He's great - a brilliant singer and wonderful frontman, being able to remain in this band was a factor in deciding to remain in this part of the country. Here's a video my wife shot of our first try at a Harry Styles song received_1277558273070579.mp4
  19. Not sure if this Facebook link will work, but this is a clip from last night https://www.facebook.com/170690849792411/posts/1739791796215634/
  20. First public gig since the before times tonight. Kids are at the in-laws, so the wife's coming out and I've got someone to show off for. I've got new strings on my bass and it's our first outing with our new guitarist. We'll, actually he's the original guitarist, but he's not been with the band for best part of ten years. I'm really looking forward to tonight.
  21. As it's 20 years old today, Pig Destroyer - Prowler In The Yard https://pigdestroyer.bandcamp.com/album/prowler-in-the-yard-deluxe-reissue
  22. I used to have this one, which was a custom bolt on. I recorded this album with it
  23. I like the look of the Achilles headless multiscale, be interested to see some more about it as it's a bit vague on the website at the moment
