1. Nice bass! If you hit the IMG button to the side of each pic and paste it it in your post, it looks like this

3.
Very nice man tonight said he thought I sounded like Tina Weymouth. Result.
Yes, i've heard you do a good Californian accent.
4. Fretted for the slap nonsense, fretless for everything else. I try to take my fretted basses to gigs but somehow always take the fretless as well and end up playing that!
5. Oh wow, some amazing suggestions here and even a couple I've never heard! Better get listening. Liking the suggestions of songs that go into other songs easily - thank you!
6.
You must play Ebony and Ivory and I Just Called To Say. The audience will never forgive you if you don't.
It's a pretty young, hip, crowd so I think they'll let us do the cooler stuff
7.
Also there's For Once In My Life, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Master Blaster, Higher Ground... You're spoiled for choice really with an artist like Stevie.
I know! I narrowed it down to about 70!
8. Good point, I did consider doing it more like the Quincy Jones version but I have a bit of a thing against that song after hearing so many poor versions.
9. Next month one of my bands is doing a Stevie Wonder special - what songs should we choose to play and why ? It's a lively venue so uptempo is preferred - thanks! Edit: Not Superstition - everyone else plays that!
10. I had a dream about this bass last night. I was playing it at Glastonbury and one of the switches was a flamethrower, so, for that reason, I'm out.
11. Nice looking bass! But what an odd pickup position.
12. Really? They're certainly not super rare.
13. Leonard Smalls to checkout number 4 please!
14. I'm gigging in town on the 28th, it's at half 5 though so I can pop along for an hour or two and then 'borrow' your gear to use at the gig! One bass per song possible?
15. Someone walked onto the stage tonight to demand lessons from our sax player while he was mid solo. Not really what you expect at a jazz gig.
16. Almost as annoying as "in perfect condition except for..." Or "all original apart from..." Well it isn't then is it!!!
17. Because I have 30 tracks to write down (or memorise) by Saturday. Most have simple structures and/or are interesting to play. Street Player is neither.Edit: If there's something that would make your job more efficient, you'd do it wouldn't you? BTW, starting a post "Not trying to be ..." invariably leads one to believe that the poster IS trying to be that, whether they are or not.
18. Does anyone know of one anywhere? It's not particularly hard but it's long with a lot of changes and I simply can't be bothered listening to all 9 mins 34 of it writing it all down! Thanks!
19. Aaaaanyone? I haven't a clue.
20. Everything I do is funky like Lee Dorsey.
21.
Depends on how you like instruments, I`m not overkeen on shiny new basses/guitars but also not overkeen on fake relicing either. Some fake reliced instruments look genuine, but others, like the Fender Joe Strummer Tele look appalling, doesn`t look anything like road-wear. Def not a fan of that type of relicing. Forgot to add, my main dislike of shiny new instruments i probably more fear of the disappointment of knocking a prsitine bass for the first time, whereas with a worn instrument, well doesn`t matter then.
I feel exactly the same. So much so in fact that I wonder if we're related or that you may have some Derren Brownian powers over my mind. :s
22. I was never a massive fan of their stuff, but I worked on a few of their shows and they are amongst the most energetic live acts around. Sometimes it's nice to see a band that actually work for their ticket money rather than just standing there.
23.
Don't get it..
I imagine its so you can play chords on the D and G string and have a different sound to the bass line you're playing on the E and A strings. Pretty flipping niche though I would've thought.
24. Yep, fretless all the way. So much more tonal and playing possibilities.
25. Yes yes yes.
