1. It was recently discovered that the necks on these are, in fact made from asbestos so sadly the value has plummeted and in some areas you will have to pay the council to take it away. HTH.
2. I always spot the photographer!
3. Living for the city and Do I Do are both on the list
4.
I'm learning 26 tracks for a Stevie Wonder set Initially it was on guitar but I'm going to have to stand in on bass too so thats a lot of learning to do.
Are you going to tune down to Eb the way Nate Watts does?
5.
I would have to see the caliber of the band before I could make a suggestion. Can't wait to see it. You guys must be very good. I don't know any bands at the local level that have the ability to pull off those songs. Matter of fact I watched a Stevie tribute on TV last week and found most of the performances and versions of Stevie's work very weak. And they were all major stars. Blue
If you thought they were bad it's probably best not to watch us then!
6.
Just a bit! Superstition, as mentioned before... I've grown to hate that song because loads of bands have sucked all the groove out of it. I hate playing it myself.
+1 and there isn't that much groove to begin with (compared to most of his oeuvre)
7.
This thread has cursed me! We've found a new singer, she is brilliant! She has added Master Blaster to the set and I've got a week to nail it, lol
It's not too bad - I prefer to start further up the neck if that helps at all - congrats on the singer!
8.
Can't believe For Once In My Life hasn't had more suggestions!? For me it's Stevie's best song and probably Jamerson's best bass line IMOOC. But seriously you can't drop superstition, it's a killer track! Especially if he drop the guitar from the riff and have a keys player who has an octave wheel! I'm actually dead interested to here this gig so when it's all sorted message me and I'll come along! I LOVE Stevie and his music!
For once in my life is just a cover of a Barbara McNair song.
9. 10. Hi Steve - did you manage to take any pics? Thanks!
11. Just saw your reply icastle - thanks.
12. Wow that IS nice! Love the tuning system too.
13. Wow that IS nice! Love the tuning system too.
14. Trade for 1999 Stingray 5 in pearl purple?
15. Recorded on the Hero 3+ and microphone. The new standard hero may have the same sound processing as a 3+, I don't know.
16. The cheapest one? Not great, there's a marked improvement on the 3+ and the Hero 4. I bought a cheap microphone (£15) to plug in and that made a difference. Cool Cat in Town: http://youtu.be/uT65mshElhM
17. Nice bass! If you hit the IMG button to the side of each pic and paste it it in your post, it looks like this

19.
Very nice man tonight said he thought I sounded like Tina Weymouth. Result.
Yes, i've heard you do a good Californian accent.
20. Fretted for the slap nonsense, fretless for everything else. I try to take my fretted basses to gigs but somehow always take the fretless as well and end up playing that!
21. Oh wow, some amazing suggestions here and even a couple I've never heard! Better get listening. Liking the suggestions of songs that go into other songs easily - thank you!
22.
You must play Ebony and Ivory and I Just Called To Say. The audience will never forgive you if you don't.
It's a pretty young, hip, crowd so I think they'll let us do the cooler stuff
23.
Also there's For Once In My Life, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Master Blaster, Higher Ground... You're spoiled for choice really with an artist like Stevie.
I know! I narrowed it down to about 70!
24. Good point, I did consider doing it more like the Quincy Jones version but I have a bit of a thing against that song after hearing so many poor versions.
25. Next month one of my bands is doing a Stevie Wonder special - what songs should we choose to play and why ? It's a lively venue so uptempo is preferred - thanks! Edit: Not Superstition - everyone else plays that!
