1. Yes, but you get a Razorlight book.
2.
I can see where the electricity goes but where do you put the petrol.
Over the body, followed by a lighted match. Wumpfff
3.
Behrinhger? :-)
I hope you have a Certificate of Authenticity for that Behringer chorus pedal, sir.
4. Aside from the legal/moral issues of the logo swap, he has to source and apply the logo, sand the headstock and respray it, plus sourcing and fitting the pickguard. It's not a lot of work, but still not something everyone wants to do or feels confident in doing. Plus he's taking attractive pictures and writing good copy. Compare his auction with the ones he's bought from - if you were looking for a nice cheap bass to play rather than mod, which one would you buy?
5. Words are inadequate. Looks like they used one of those companies that do fake stone cladding for ex-council houses to do the back of the body.
who McCartney was ...
Could be worse. Imagine Lennon holding a naked press conference for his 70th birthday. Yoko might sing happy birthday. We've been so spared ...
6. Anyone who hasn't yet clicked the link, dim your screen backlight first, or wear sunglasses.
7. I asked what, if anything, about it was Fender, but got no reply. Seems like no-one was fooled, judging by the final price.
8. I could understand designer clothes, jewelry, even phones and Apple stuff. But chorus pedals? Who fakes chorus pedals?
9.
Absolute piece of nasty, cheapo crap. £500? Surely no-one would be retarded enough to pay that for this pile of arse. And it's not a f@cking Teisco - it's sh!tty Korean rubbish. J.
Spoilsport! He does say it's been on his wall. Two necks, twice the fun (No, I wouldn't pay £500 for it either).
10. Seems to be the season ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=260676382421
11. Ironically, here's one with no logo that might actually be genuine. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Precision-Bas...l-/280573083977
12. And at the higher end (of price anyway), I just wish I could think of a reason to buy this ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Teisco-Audit...s-/300480274729
13. This looks ok, no idea what it is though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOVELY-1970s-FENDER-...N-/120632456504 Fragile though, so pickup in London only.
14. Who likes CMI? Feels like deja vue, I've seen the text before if not the bass. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CMI-Presicion-bass-V...s-/120632529715
15. Hagstrom Swede? Gretsch Broadkaster? Guild Starfire? Problem is going to be finding someone on here who has one and wants to trade it. Or a nice DeArmond Starfire with Darkstars, and put some money in your pocket. I looked at your ad. Just my opinion FWIW, but I'd link to the site with all the spec details, so people aren't faced with that huge list they may not be that interested in. Plus, I'm not that interested in where you bought the bass and why you can't play it, and justifying the price just sounds defensive. Important things are: The Price, it's in immaculate condition, Les Pauls are great rock basses, you won't ship or take paypal. So that's a couple of short paragraphs, all you need. And if you brought the price down to say £990 it would sound less frightening. Seriously consider shipping. You might want to try before buying, but it's not you you're selling to. I buy unseen all the time, if I didn't I'd never buy anything.
16. I'D LIKE TO FIND THE BLOKE WHO SELLS THE KEYBOARDS WITH THE STUCK CAPS LOCK AND GIVE HIM A KICKING.
17.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kent-Hagstrom-Bass-g...=item3f03baae02 Isn't this rather expensive?
Relisted (twice) at £500 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=270648926364
18.
How on earth is that electro-acoustic?
Presumably he means piezo.
19.
LOL, I've been wanting to say that for a few days! The seller seems to be going out of his way not to tell us these things, or perhaps it's a marketing ploy, a slow reveal, a bass provenance striptease?
Trouble is it's a strip that gets you all excited at the start and then what's underneath isn't quite what you expected ...
*Maple neck with a high gloss polyester finish £200 WD Music
http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/Precision...ar_Finish_PM-CL So, ok, maybe they dropped the price by 25%, but still.
20. I thought it was one of those "Tennessee" brand basses that used to turn up on eBay.
21. I did that on Facebook - set up half a profile, invited a load of "friends" and haven't been back since.
22. OK, thanks, that would work. Really don't want to get into this rack lark, as I can predict who's going to be left to store/carry it. And it won't be the guitarist.
23. Oddity on eBay. Got an SX neckplate and those stickers on the back of the neck look familiar, but the headstock shape is more Jim Deacon. Looks nice anyway. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
24. OK, but I'm looking for something with a footprint like this not this ... So say 4 xlr+jack inputs, a level control for each input and one master output. I don't want to carry around a load of other knobs and sliders I have no use for because its going into a 31 band eq anyway. If there's something like that on the market, lead me to it.
25. EDIT: I thought a multi-channel preamp would have a level/gain control on each input and one master output. So I could balance the levels on each mic and then feed that to the EQ. If actually it's going to give me a separate output for each input, then my idea is screwed. Most of the time the lead vocal is on one mic and there's a bit of BV on the other, but nothing like complex harmonies or vocal arrangements. On 1 or two songs per gig the lead vocal switches to the other mic. I can't see the point of carrying a mixer around for, 99% of the time, one mic. Also I did try a small 2 xlr Tapco mixer at one stage and wasn't impressed, so I guessed from that you actually need a bigger mixer to get anything decent. So, if my preamp idea doesn't work, what is the minimum gear I can get away with to get better control over the EQ? (Does the EMX get upset if there's no speakers attached? Line out from the EMX to the EQ and power amp, using the EMX just as a simple mixer, would be ok if it can cope with no speaker load.)
