And only 48 kg too, my Burman guitar combo weighs 55kg ! Someone in the For Sale forum had an Eden Nemesis 300w 2x12 Neo combo, which I reckon would be a good choice even if it is second hand. It'd certainly weigh a lot less.

Sounds like someone got a lot of bass for 200 quid. Also looks like it went to someone who collects ornaments, judging by his feedback! LOL.

They're like buses. Nothing for ages, and then two come along at once. Friday night, the first proper gig for the pop covers band. Country pub in the middle of nowhere, small but V. enthusiastic and appreciative crowd. Band played well, I nailed everything including 'Twister' (that Cass is some bass player) and everyone including landlord was very happy. Next stop The Railway, about which I have very mixed feelings but we don't really have any alternatives - if you want to go to heaven, you've got to learn how to blow silent farts in church. Last night, depping for Bilbo in the Mar Azul while he was off having his wicked way with some jazz standards. Bloody hell! I've never played any Brazilian music and I hadn't had time to look at the 400 songs on the DVD that someone sent me, so I was sight reading and transposing chords from a set of lyrics in Portuguese, guessing chords off guitar (not too bad) and cavaquino (how is that tuned?), and an entire set which consisted of one 45 minute samba. Much respect to Bilbo - when you see him play this stuff you think it sounds like a piece of cake until you're there in the thick of it. Handling a completely different genre without seemingly breaking sweat is the mark of someone who really knows what he's doing.

I'm not a guitarist, but I've accumulated 3 guitars: Variax 300 - useful for noodling, recording and making un-guitar like noises Fylde Orsino acoustic - bought this second-hand in 1977, took me 2 years to pay for it and I treasure it more than any of my basses. Fylde Electric - Solid mahogany from the late 70's/early 80s, Overlend pickups (EMG forerunner).

Never mind the boxes. How do you stop the cables entangling themselves into a king rat's nest as soon is your back is turned, however neatly you coil them when you put them away I always seem to end up with a load of co-ax spaghetti :-(

You need a sealed lead-acid battery of the right size with the right connectors but any equivalent will do - if there's a PowerSonic battery listed then you'll probably easily find those in the UK and there is more than likely a Yuasa/Genesis equivalent. Then you ring up your local battery specialist - ours is www.combatalexander.co.uk - and ask for an equivalent. Not sure whether you need a charger or whether the pjb will charge up an internal battery if you plug it into the mains. Once again the manual is your friend. Run time will depend on the current drawn by the amp and the size of the battery - if they've used a 12V 10 amp hour battery and the amp draws 2.5a, it'll run for 4 hours on a charge. 12V would be a sensible choice which would allow you to use an external car battery which will run much longer but be a PITA to cart around.
