  1. Coffee & TV - Blur
  2. Land Ho! - The Doors
  3. @2.05 - Hinting at the fabled Stingray weak G legend? I still have that issue of Bass Player.
  4. Nowhere Man - Not Klaatu
  5. The hand that rocks the cradle - The Smiths
  6. A Wal or a Hofner 500/1... Polar opposites to each other and yet both are the opposite of a Fender.. πŸ€ͺ
  7. Me myself and I - De La Soul
  8. Good times, bad times - Zep
  9. πŸ˜‚ Awesome! Never heard that before. The thumped open E there sounds EXACTLY like those on Higher Ground πŸ‘ Flea, Chad and John... Dream Team! πŸ’₯
  10. I've always thought that his bass on Higher Ground sounds like a Spector..
  11. Nearly 50 πŸ€“πŸ€˜
  12. This is solid gold! Amazing to see all that extra footage after all this time! πŸ‘Š Always thought Flea played the Wal sitting down a lot because it was heavy. Didn't realise he was wearing a cast on his foot! The Funky Monks film is so inspiring - I've owned a copy on every format since VHS! 😁 Thanks for all these vids Bart ✊😎🍻
  13. Honestly, the first thing that came to mind was Batfink πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ
  14. Hopefully The Cure will save the day.
  15. Yes. I'm pretty fly for a white guy. πŸ•Ί
  16. Thanks! I have seen the Gail Ann Dorsey interview on YouTube actually which is fabulous. What a lovely soul she is!
  17. I really like Scott and I've learned a lot from just his free vids over the years for which I'm thankful. I don't mind him popping up everywhere I go online - it does remind me to get my derrière "in the shed" more often instead of just looking at gear to buy that I don't need! I'll probably sign up for the academy eventually.
  18. Because I'm very impulsive and have the attention span of a gnat crossed with both a magpie's eye for shiny things and Steptoe's eye for crappy looking relic stuff. Had I been a banker I could have easily caused the global financial crash single-handedly.
  19. I had a bass dream last night! In fact some of my most successful modding ideas come to me in dreams. Last night's was me playing my Stingray at an improv jam in a club somewhere (there was no social distancing going on whatsoever! 🀘), and I had modded my 'ray with an added Novak Bisonic in the P position running through a Glockenklang pre. It sounded incredible! As did my playing.. I did say I was dreaming πŸ˜†
  20. Bagsieblue got in first so off they go!
  21. Tried these flats out on my Stingray, fab strings but I've moved back to rounds for the foreseeable. They'll be good for another 100 years probably! πŸ˜†πŸ˜‰ I've been gifted free strings here to try out in the past so just passing on the BC good vibes to whoever fancies giving 'em a go! First come, funk served! πŸ‘Š
  22. I was just going to suggest the same thing! A funky modern take on a 4005 would be ace. Maybe with bisonic/dark Star pickups?
  23. Indeed! I saw the Roses live 'back in the day' and it was Mani that mainly caught my eye. He was actually the one that inspired me to buy my first bass and give it a go.
  24. Ian Brown of The Stone Roses originally played bass in The Patrol alongside John Squire, the band that would later morph into the Roses.
