  1. If memory serves me right I bought it from Tomas (zvirus) on here.
  2. I’ve had batteries go flat before the end of the first set during a gig once. Sound started to dip in and out and get a bit fizzy. Wasn’t sure if it was the amp, lead or batteries. Thankfully there was an ASDA across the road. Happened about 18 months later during soundcheck (before I learnt the Jan 1st tip). Thankfully I always take a passive P bass with me. Bit paranoid and have broken strings too. Takes the fun out of gigging when you’ve to do repairs on the fly! Bands don’t mind occasional little technical problems but they do mind you not having solutions. Once did a big gig where the guitarist didn’t have any plectrums. He had to cut up an old credit card. Amateur!!
  3. Just had a low battery warning light fitted to my active bass. Not worth the worry if the batteries will go flat at the gig. A local pro gave me this tip, he changes his battery on 1st Jan each year.
  4. There’s something really wonderful about having a custom made pedal and making it a central part of your rig. It’s obviously cheaper to buy off the shelf pedals but ultimately not as satisfying.
  5. I had a custom Reverb/Chorus unit made by Tom at Cog Effects. Absolutely love it. Makes me smile whenever I look at it. Sounds pretty good too. Tom is a massive Star Wars fan and I love Family Guy. Here is my Blue Harvest Pedal.
  6. I had my one (then a second, then not) for about 4 years. Loved it.
  7. These are great multi fx units. The sounds hold up against real pedals. Great practice tool too.
  8. Not counting my current ABM500, The amp I bought as a present for my 21st birthday back in 1992 was a Crate BT350. The only decent bass amp they made. Built in the same factory as Ampeg (SLM) back in the day. Always got lots of complements from the sound engineers. Still have it. Very loud 350w, 7 band EQ, built in chorus, bi-ampable, etc.
  9. Funnily enough my rule was if the manager was taking more drugs than us we’re in trouble! The way that Shep looked after Mike Myers when he had a breakdown was very kind too.
  10. Also shows what a wonderful manager he had in Shep Gordon. Class act. There’s a great documentary on him too.
  11. Fantastic looking bass Karl. As per usual. Looks very similar to the lovely fender status hybrid you sold me.

  13. Not sure if Anderson’s still have a similar deal on with the 250 combo. £379 down from £579!
  14. I totally agree. In my book: Lateness = amateurs & rudeness. Punctuality = professionalism & manners. No excuse not to send a quick message saying sorry but we are running a bit late. Personally would not audition people at 7pm. Would always do it at 8pm. Gives the band an hour to arrive, set up and warm up. Gives a much better first impression.

    Hi

Might be worth buying a decent bass stand instead as a gig bag won’t get much use over the coming months! 😂😢
