    NBND

    Still loving mine.
  2. Just the wrong time for me otherwise I would be all over this, cracking amps, GLWTS
  3. Going to add the Orange Four Stroke to this, very flexible.
  4. Just bought a cab from Simon. Great basschatter to deal with, spot on. Buy/trade/sell in complete confidence. Cheers Simon. Steve.
  5. Well, my set of replacement strings turned up, same tarnishing on them. No reply from EB as yet.
  6. My Cobalts turned up yesterday, they were already rusty on the E and D strings.
  7. Hey all I've posted in the wanted section that I'm looking for one and hope its ok to post here as well as I know threads move fast in there. Thornybank did kindly put me onto one but it has the jazz pups in. Ive since updated the wanted thread. I am after the twin Person pickup version. If anyone see's one for sale can you let me know please. These basses are like hens teeth. Many thanks
  8. Mine is the V1 version, I bought it new in 2010. I've ran it with a hell of a lot of amps, Markbass LMIII, GK 1001 and 2001 RB's, Genz Streamliner and Shuttle 9.0, Trace Elliot Hexavalve, TC Blacksmith, Orange Bass Terror and currently an Orange Four Stroke 500. The only amp I feel it didn't work with was the Streamliner, it sounded way too 'flubby', if that's a word, no real definition no matter what I did, to be honest I didn't really get on with that amp at all. I use it in two bands, one is a Ska/Two-Tone band and the other, a Punk band. Always a P bass (with flats on at the moment) in both bands. I have never felt it was too boomy, apart from with the Streamliner, but I do like a bass tone that sits under the band, saying that, with round wounds on I can get pretty close to JJ Burnel's bass tone with the right EQ settings. What that sounds like out front, I do not know but I have had lots of good compliments from other bass players on my tone/tones. Alex told me that there is not much treble on these cabs and the output drops like a stone at about 1.5Hz, but I have never felt wanting for top end.
  9. Same here had mine from new and its still my 'go to' cab. GLWTS

  11. Im going to have to get mine out for a gig again soon. Absolute monsters. GLWTS
  12. Jean Jacques Burnel is my favourite Rotosound endorsee. His tone sits right in the mix and also manages to rip your face off.
  13. Ok cheers danbowskill, Andertons did get back to me to say the fans are a little loud on these units, but nothing to worry about.
  14. 2 gigs in now and i am so pleased with this beastie. After 6-7 years of using (a lot of) class D amps, the sound I'm getting out of this is huge. Our guitarist turned round to me and said it sounded so much fuller. One thing I did notice is that the fan sounds very loud, anyone else notice this?
  15. Just ordered one from Andertons, should be here tomorrow.
  16. I use Chromes in my punk band, i dig in really hard with a pick. With a three piece, the bass tone sits really good underneath the guitar.

  18. I've recently fitted the 'C' neck from my Roger Waters sig (which is by far the comfiest neck I've ever played) onto my Blacktop Jazz, but then that has two P pickups on it so I'm not sure where i fit in this thread 😳. I'm now on the hunt for another neck from a Waters bass to fit back on my Waters bass, if you see what I mean.

  20. Im sure that neck is going to be too small for me, but that sure is a fine looking bass.
