  1. First off I wouldn't get yourself too upset. They're only simple guitarists/drummers after all. I like @EBS_freak's woojer suggestion, at least for the guitarist. Drummer might benefit from a buttkicker or some other kind of bass shaker. Wouldn't go buying them though. I'd suggest they do!
  2. Solid state preamp? Awesome, but I don't think it's what the OP is getting at... Would have killed for one of those once upon a time...
  3. Yummy! Prices look really good for hand built kit. I see this seems to have become a standard model on the website now. Started a revolution you have!
  4. Probably, or down on the outer poles. I didn't think to do it at the time, and truth be told I needed to free up cash for something else so something had to go... but the decision over selling the Sire would have been a lot more difficult had I not had this constant niggle..
  5. I'd still have my V7 5 if it had a workaround for the fretboard radius. The radius is fine for playing, but it means the outer strings are louder than the inner strings. The B string in particular (which was excellent on mine, by the way) was very difficult to tame! If I was on the hunt for a workhorse 5 I'd consider another but either modify the pickups or have the radius flattened out to a nice 12" - 16" compound if the fretboard laminate would allow. Or I'd try the P5 (where I'd probably favour the P pickup anyway) where you can adjust the 2 halves of the pickup accordingly.
  6. Need to retune the cab for the Faital? Any word on the review of this cab @Phil Starr?
  7. "Tuff cab" paint.
  8. Victim of the bathtub curve @torby.
  9. Ironically, you'd probably have to sand the gloss finish for the matte to adhere to it. Really fine grit abrasives are all I can think of...
  10. Looks awful... but I bet it plays better than a ******fecker...
  11. That's an earlier one. There was a headstock shape change in later models. I had one of these in 94/95 so it's before that. Looks like it'll clean up fairly well!
  12. Hmm. It's the MIDI guitar software that's doing the "other instruments" in that video NOT the OMEC Teleport, it's just converting the analogue signal to 1's and 0's. Being a bit misleading there is Mary. It's a standard audio interface, albeit a pedalboard mounted one.
  13. It's an audio interface, not a pitch to midi converter. Not what you're looking for I fear. Sonuus i2m might get you closer, but without lag? Forget it...
  14. People with sense. My MkV GTI likes £450 of tyres about once a year. If they were £700 I'd still spend it because putting remoulds on a performance car is suicide... Flea is awesome? Maybe in your world, but I think he disappeared up his own behind after BSSM.
  15. Meh... mine hasn't had a look-in since I bought a Deko Harley Benton Uke bass. The U-bass looks great but has the bridge placed wrong making the intonation intolerable, and the pickup has a known issue, the "fix" for which makes the intonation even worse. Have to say I couldn't recommend them at all. Despite the sharp fret ends and plain-jane looks the Harley Benton is a vastly superior instrument at a fraction of the price. YMMV of course...
  16. Going to ask a ridiculous question... Would building this from 12mm MDF be madness. Have access to quite a lot of it...
  17. New one on me!
  18. No battery? What powers the circuit then? There are 6 ICs on that PCB, they don't run on thin air!
  19. As am I... Any word @alexclaber?
  20. I used a D'addario 145 on a drop A 34" scale 5 string (Sire Jazz) and it was perfect.
  21. More than one lesson learned there then! Could end up saving you money in the long run that one...
  22. Looks lush! Not the spec I would personally choose, but still lush nonetheless!
  23. I'd go the chrome hardware route myself. Lovely looking basses. I've never had the opportunity to try one myself, but they're on the radar!
  24. Just bought an Ibanez SRC6 from Frank. Very pleased with it and the whole transaction. Communication was excellent throughout and Frank's packaging was beyond bombproof! Wouldn't hesitate to deal with Frank again.
