1.
aha, that makes sense, as I used it in LP mode. It does bother me because by itself the blended sound is difficult to use. But I might just add a micro QTron again, since I love that pedal anyway. We will see
Note that the qtron bypassed will not invert the signal so without it engaged you will have the same trouble you're having now with your blend...
2. The qtron inverts the signal in HP and LP modes so that sorts the phase issue combined with the bassballs when the envelope filter is engaged. A little inverting opamp circuit would sort it out pretty simply and would probably fit inside the pedal enclosure if it bothered you greatly...
3.
Pearl octaver does one up. I think a BCer is working on a clone. I'll chase him up.
I've just ordered the PCB for a Pearl clone from Madbean too...
4.
I still have to wire up the daisy chain and velcro it down, but you get the idea .... So tell me, when it comes to velcro, is there any good reason to do spiky side on pedals, soft side on board, or the other way round ... or doesn't it matter at all ?
The OCD in me says you need a set square!!! Sweet little collection!
5. No way! Really wasn't expecting to see this...
6. I emailed Dunlop yesterday about getting a schematic for the broken MXR bass octave (not the deluxe version) I bought here last week... They don't hand out schematics, even for obsolete pedals.... Their tech support manager says he'll talk me through repairing it, but using email and the time difference that'll take FOREVER! With a schematic I could find the problem in no time (comparatively). Most other companies don't have an issue. Grrrr...
7. All these are why that b*****d Cowell has shows on tv...
8. I'll take the qtron. Pm coming your way.
9. Great price! Mine works just fine without the battery cover...
10. ...So that's where my old RB5 went after NJE. Great bass. One that got away...
11. Very sad... Blues Brothers and a cold one this afternoon I think...
12.
aha! indeed, that sounds like a great mod to the micro QTron with its volume bump... and I only ever used it on Low Pass anyway... I must try this with the Bassballs... when I gather the courage to open it up and mess with it
Give me a shout if you're stuck and I'll offer any assistance I can.
13. Great song for anyone who's ever flown with an instrument. If I recall correctly the outcome from this was good for him and bad for United - always nice to see the little guy winning one for a change!
14. Just bought an (advertised as non functioning) MXR bass octave from Alex. Arrived very quickly! These are the sort of transactions that make basschat what it is. A pleasure from start to finish. Cheers mate! Now where's the soldering iron...
15. ...one cab to rule them all...
16.
Hi...Bit puzzled here, It has a selector switch so it should have another humbucker .Has this been removed by you and if so do you still have it?
Is this guy serious?
17. I shudder to think how good this cab must sound... I have the 4x12 version in the older Tech Soundsystems livery and it's AWESOME. This must be AWESOMER!!!
18. Limiter? Rubbish!!! It's an easy mod. Don't put the pot just before the output jack - that'll control both effected and uneffected signals. You want to put the volume pot between the output of the circuit and the footswitch so you're only controlling the effected volume. Done this a few times with mini qtrons (actually have one in my work bag returning it to Gareth Hughes of this parish today - although for this pedal I removed the rotary switch, hardwired the pedal to low pass and put the new volume pot where the rotary switch was - stealthy, makes the pedal much more useable and there's no change in tone that I can hear).
19.
Hmm I guess we'll never know.
If it's fixable you'll get first refusal @ £20 + parts + shipping when it's done mate.
20. I'll take the octave if it's still about. Pm'd
21. WANT THAT ONE!!! Alas my Dingwall has left me brassic...
22. Keep an eye out for a Johnny Shread Freak power supply. It's a copy of a Diago. I bought one from Shep/pantherairsoft recently for VERY little money and it's a great wee PSU.
23. PM'd Dan! Sorry Andy I'm all bassed out at the minute!
