1. Selling my used and much loved American Special Precision. It's a smashing bass, but I've recently got a Tony Franklin P so it's not been getting the love it deserves. It's got a Fender grease bucket tone circuit that sounds pretty nice, a slimmer neck that is really comfortable. I've got it slung with some D'addario Pro steels and also fitted a Hipshot Xtender. It's well used and has a few dinks and a lot of pick evidence. I also still have the original white scratch plate as well! Looking for £450 but I'm open to offers + part ex's for pedals such as DOD Meatbox and synths Added more pictures of fret wear here https://www.flickr.c...57646019794797/

Up for a grabs is my Epiphone Ripper, these have become pretty rare now! - Hard maple body - Bolt-on hard-maple neck with satin finish - Maple fingerboard with high-gloss polyurethane finish - Abalone dot inlays - Brass nut - Large-key open-back tuners - 34" scale - 1.65" nut width It's in good nick, sounds great especially with the brass nut and the pup placement. I'm the second owner of this. Theres a few marks here and there and a bit of a nick neat the nut on the bass side - these were courtesy of the previous owner. One thing I should mention is that the top tuners (A & D) have been bent slightly back but It's never bothered me nor effected tuning. Good action and currently strung with some fresh D'addario pro steels. I have a old fender soft case with a bit of a busted strap but it fits. This bass has won me a few compliments just because it looks the nuts when I've taken her out! I have too many basses so this one has to go with regret. [s]Looking for £230 but I'm open to offers + part ex's for pedals such as DOD Meatbox and synths[/s] SOLD Any questions feel free to ask! 3. It's solid state right? I really wouldn't worry about a back up, get some spare fuses maybe. In my opinion, if you're worried about the head failing then maybe it's not right you. The money you'd be spending on two BH500s could get you something "better" but then that's for you to decide! I know you said you're not into light weight heads but the Aguilar Tone hammer is really worth a look.
  4. This is such a beautiful bass
  5. Dep gig I was on for a band called Kenelis as main support for Republica. This was at the new Q alternative Stage at Pride - Brighton Was going though a Ampeg rig with lots of my Darkglas B7K and my trusty Fender TF P! Here's a cover of Foos - All my life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV4oS5pEW7o

  7. So I've had my bass whammy since they hit the shelves.. Am I the only one who is finding the new digitech Bass Whammy fairly noisy with distortions or just in my chain? I get a weird high(ish) constant ringing whether the whammy is on or off. It won't take 9v supplies from my Fuel Tank or my new MXR brick so I'm using the supplied plug. I'm assuming it's the power supply that's making it a bit noisy or maybe I've got a lemon and not realised?
  8. Can you PM me some pictures of the Meatbox please?
  9. Proud owner of the fretted version. These sound amazing! GLWTS
  10. No way would I/the band allow a drummer to take money out of a band fund to buy himself a new snare. Same goes for any gear I/they buy. You pay for it your self. Just a rule of thumb really
  11. This looks great, nice to see a PJ as well! Matching headstock and I'd have been jumping on one. Fender do offer a very high spec (in my opinion) PJ Precision bass. Hello, Tony Franklin sig? Also looking at the specs, the J pup on the jag looks to be very similar, if not the same as the TF precision.
  12. Ive noticed this ever so slightly on my Jap Jazz. I've had the neck off a fair bit and I still can't get a action I'm happy with yet. The bolts on the next don't seem to tighten up as much as I like. Only time I've encountered it, ever.
  13.
Ah, thanks! And off to Google I go...
Any time
Nice board! What do you make of the Duality? That's next on my wish list.
Thank you! Brilliant, very modern, different sounding fuzz. I love the way it breaks up. It certainly slays it's way though the mix when I kick it in!
  14.
That's an interesting board, too. Home made, or can you buy those somewhere?
It's the large Gator G tour board. Amazing board. Only wish there was space under it for cabling but apart from that a very solid piece of kit
  15.
How much was the Sputnik after customs and postage?

sputnik nice! that thing is sick! andy
I haven't got a foggiest regarding the price, It cost me a fair amount of money to say the least. Is it awesome? err... YES. I'm using it for all the crazy weird noises you can get out of it. As for using it as a fuzz on it's own. Yeah its fantastic but it does lack the bottom end. I might try putting a EQ pedal in a loop with it. I have to say on g****r it's incredible.

  17. Well that's certainly one way to sell a Fender American standard P. You reckon she comes with the bass? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-Fender-American-Standard-Precision-Bass-guitar-/231252694510
  18.
Hi, I'm new to this site but after seeing this i had to join. After watching A LOT of live shows on youtube and studying this picture i think Iv'e estimated how he gets his tone. The chain starts with the bass his : *Gretsch Electromatic Jnr Jet Bass II in Black *Gretsch Electromatic Jnr Jet Bass II in Black - Tobacco Sunburst these seem to be his main bass guitars one kept in drop D (for sure) and one a full step down (i think), he also uses a *Fender Starcaster Bass 4-String Semi Acoustic Bass Guitar Black This is kept in Drop C with the other strings down a full step (probably because the Gretschs are small scale basses and cant cope with this low tuning) Now to the pedalboard. The chain starts with his Boss tuner> then the PS-6 Harmonist (from the picture looks like its in the s;bend mode which will be how he gets those quick high +1octave sounds for solos ect..)> this then goes into the "palmer triage" which is where the signal splits into three *1st output- goes to the Boss LS-2 this is the pedal he hits to cut the bass sound probably on A~bypass mode this then goes straight to the bass amp (as far as i know you cant here any gain on the "real" bass sound) the bass amp is an Ampeg 4x12" *2nd output goes to a POG 2 which will be set for the "fake" guitar sound> this then goes to a Boss GE-7 Graphic Equalizer, this is used to cut the low ends off and get a mid range sound its not kept on through the show, you can hear it on the breakdown on "Little Monster"- very good for build ups> this then goes into another Boss Harmonist which might be for a 5th or something but I'm guaranteed its to bend to an octave below ( so the "fake" guitar sounds like it is turning into a bass again MADNESS)> this then ends on the Strymon Flint reverb/tremolo this is just used for a bit of texture and feedback>this set up then finally goes to a guitar amp think its a vintage Fender amp. *3rd output. Finally the last output goes to another POG 2 which will have similar settings to the other one> then goes to a Z.VEX Vextron Mastotron Fuzz probably on the whole gig , his amps probably have high gain settings too for more crunch. I hope this has been a help, really loving this band at the moment. Finlay.
This is a great break down of gear! Doesn't the second Pitch shifter get used for the slow dive bomb effect he uses at the end of sets or tracks and isn't it a standard 8x10 ampeg cab for the dry bass?
