1.
Thank you folks for the kind words. The "PJ" Precision is actually a couple of hundred more $ buckaroos, than the regular Am. Std. Precision, or Jazz.
It's a lovely bass gsgbass and I'm sorely tempted. Strangely, they are about £150 cheaper than an American Standard P or J in the UK. Frank.
2. Is that one of the "Magnificant Seven" range? I really fancy one of those. PJ, jazz neck and lightweight. Looks good to me. Frank.
3. Well done Alex and congratulations. You've worked hard and deserve every success. Frank.
4. James just bought a 75RI jazz from me. It was a nice, simple and straightforward transaction. After having a sleep on it, James decided to buy and transferred the money quickly. I can vouch for his honesty and his no-nonsense approach. Highly recommended. Frank.
5. Thanks very much for the positive feedback to Nobody's Prefect (a little belated but I hadn't seen it), and to Discreet and James for perfect deals. James; I hope you enjoy the 75RI as much as I have. I know it's one bass I will genuinely miss. It got more praise from band members than any other bass I've owned. Frank.
6. Rediculous really and you never get compensation or even an apology. I now use PF service where you leave your parcel into a local shop, saving you having to wait in for collection. Also I don't worry about delivery. If I'm in that's well and good. But if not, it's actually easier for me to collect from a local post office or depot. Frank.
7. That should sound massive. I went the same route, lightweight cabs and an older amp with a transformer power supply. In my case Barefaced cabs and Thunderfunk 550 amp. I hope you enjoy your new toys. Frank.
8. I stick tape over the microphone, on the fly. Works a treat. Frank.
9. I had one the same as yours until I stopped playing for a few years in 1992. Mine was identical. I think it's an SB900. The SB 1000 was active with a single pick-up. Frank.
10. Reading this prompted me to get my amp two out today. Bloody hell, loud, full sounding and so much versatility. It's going to rehearsal next week. Frank.
11.
Wouldn't life be easier if the forum had a similar stance on BF with Rickenbacker....? *runs away*
Hehehe. Frank.
12.
End of my contribution to this thread due to being shouted down , yet again , by the Barefaced fan club.
There's no need to be like that. You got a robust argument countering your own argument. It sounds quite reasonable from where I'm sitting. Frank.
13.
Great little amps. Be careful with the balance control and the bass controls/bass boost pushbutton...you can get ridiculous amounts of bass out of these things in the 50 - 80Hz region. I mean, huge.
Very true. It took me a while to learn what all the controls did. It's well worth taking the time to learn though, for best results. Frank.
14. Amp ones are great. Astonishing sound and volume from such a tiny box. I have the daddy, an Amp two, 12" + 4" speakers and a little more power. In my opinion this is the best combo on the market for those who prefer to gig a combo. If you need more volume than an Amp two you should be through the PA. I must admit, mine gets very little use since I got a new Barefaced Super Midget powered by a Streamliner 900. (Soon to be EBS Reidmar 750) I hope you enjoy the Amp one. I had one for a very short time. (Long and sad story. ) Frank.
15. Thanks chaps. I've gone with Interparcel, fully insured and not too expensive. Frank.
16.
UPS via Interparcel?
Thanks. I'll check that now. Frank.
17. I thought there was a pinned topic on couries - good and bad. I've looked and can't find it though. Apologies if it's here somewhere. So... can anyone advise me of a courier who is willing to insure musical instruments? Parcel Force and Senditnow exclude music instruments in the small print. I need to post a bass from N. Ireland to Scotland and would need insurance for £1000. I don't want to post uninsured. Help please. Frank.
18.
Jesus Christ, how loud are you playing? Maybe just cut the bass a bit and turn down a little?
Jesus plays bass? Frank.
19. Martyn bought a preamp off me. It was a very smooth deal with prompt payment. Also, I'd like to thank Martyn for his patience as I was away for a weeks holiday and couldn't post as quickly as would have liked to. Frank.

I bought an amp off Mark. Delivery was very prompt and overall, it was a very pleasant transaction. Thanks Mark. I also enjoy your sense of humour. Frank.
21. I've seen this happen with a LMII (only when running at 4 ohms) and I've read of a few others with the same problem. Have you got the gain set as per the manual? That might be worth looking into. Frank.
22. Just use Grolsch beer bottle rubber seals. Perfectly functional. I've been using them for years and never had a strap come off, which did happen once before I used them. Frank.
23. Glad to hear you got sorted to your satisfaction C. That's a great combination that I used for years. (Although it was a LMII and G1 Compact.) I gigged my BB2 last night in Tate's in Holywood and was asked to turn down!! The barmen couldn't hear the orders. How did the gig go? Did you settle right back into it? Frank.
24. These are super little combos. Great tones and, as said above, loud enough to gig. I've gigged mine in small pubs and had more than enough volume. The good thing is that the tone is maintained without distortion right up to the max volume. It's a lot of performance for small money. Frank.
