1. There's a place (MOR Music) on Fossgate near The Hairy Fig. Last time I was in there wasn't much that caught my eye.
2. Ha, this thread has made me dig out my copy of the live album Magic In The Air. It is playing at a goodly volume as I type
3. Nice one WoT. Lindisfarne always a fave especially the Christmas shows - great fun.
4.
As I was informed on here a while back, that is stereo, i.e., two different signals (although the same notes), one to each side. I didn't think it was either, but the source was, shall we say, impeccable
Initials JH by any chance
5.
I got them all apart from two from the first round, I think it was Coldplay and McFly or something, so nothing I was really missing out on.
Ditto
6. We're having this trouble. Mate and I started a rock covers band with another mate as drummer and my daughter singing. We thought of CRB (Classic Rock Band) but reaction to that from likley rent-a-crowd mob was not particularly favourable plus someone coinde the phrase Crappy Rock Band. So in a list of possibles at the mo' we have: Agents of Misfortune This Way Up One Quarter Daughter Misspent Youth It's a complete pain in the butt trying to find something.
7. Might give it a go myself http://www.planetrock.com/news/rock-news/eric-avery-quits-nine-inch-nails/
8. ead Yep, it's definitely a feature of The Phil'.
9. My mate ( guitarist) has an Eastwood baritone guitar as used by Mr. Bill Nelson. Mind you as it was one of Bills, he doen't play it much - just sits and stares at it
10. The Liverpool Philharmonic doesn't lend itsef to amplified music especially where I was seated in the second block of the circle. The kick drum often didn't sound miced up (it was there but not really hitting you in the chest as it should). Similalry I would normally expect bass pedals to be making my innards rumble and it just didn't happen. Hackett has a second night at Liverpool in October and if I can get a stalls ticket then I'll probably go - I imagine the set list will be varied a little.
11. Just got home from Liverpool. Great gig, Two and a half hours of magic .
12. Dawsons is still there just moved location. Its now in a side street off Church Street (possibly Williamson street). Gear still available from Curly Music in city centre. Morans in Gateacre too.
13. Nice one. Off to see him in Liverpool on Sunday. Really looking forward to it
14. Wait till one of them turns it round to anal sex (and they always do). Then it'll get interesting
15.
I like him and you can't go wrong with Manu Katche on drums!
Which of course backs up Bilbo's quote. I had heard of him but hadn't realised he was a bass man (my bad ). Will check out some more of his stuff.
16. Yes he of the famous Hollywood actor/director dad. Caught him on BBC breakfast news this morning. All seemed rather pleasant. How do fellow Basschatters rate his stuff and what bass is he playing in this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-506PjBrKEA
17. Well yeah, but really if it was good enough for Page, Plant and Jones then it's good enough for anyone
18. Pretty sure Plant and JPJ turned to each other and said WOW! whent the choir was revealed in all its glory near the end. You could also see that Page was playing the solo in his head. Overall it certainly looks like they were impressed.
19. I had a similar discussion with the drummer from Mostly Autumn. He rather liked the rear view of Olivia Sparnenn (sorry can't post a pic but a quick search will give you the picture - and no bass face ).
20. I was in there on Sunday. Wondered in to the first shop and thought it was funny that there were no basses in stock. 20 yards further down the road was the bass department . Nothing that particularly caught my eye though.
21. From Steve Hackett: http://www.hackettso...g/steve112.html Says it all.
22. Our drummer's got one, our guitarist used to have one. They are the definitive clitoris car.
23.
Well here's my reasoning, Genz vertical 2x12 cab with Mackie desk in its oversized box lengthways with the front seat in its normal position, double bass with the scroll between the seats but not in my way at all when driving, just blocks the armrest, hiscox case with a Ray5 inside looks lost, double bass stand, rucksack and there is a gig skinz case hiding behind it with the Genz 9.2max head and pedal board inside. There is room behind the drivers seat still, enough to get the lighting rig in at least and the seat is set for me at over 6 foot tall, still gaps in the back. Some Focii have a deeper boot as this one has a full size wide wheel and a big foam surround as the space saver won't fit this model of focus, in a way its better as it makes a nice flat load area now. I thought about the estate version but well not really an issue even if you had 2 4x10s rather than a 2x12 and double bass! I have seen comments about bass bashes looking more like a Ford Focus gathering so pics or it didnt happen etc....
I think you've answered you're own question SP - cavernous enough for all practical purposes . BTW surely it's Focuses not Focii
