1. Well up to Duke I love 'em. not so sure musically afterwards but I guess there are a few gems around. my fave album is Selling England..... but can't discount the others. Stand tracks not from England would be Los Endos, Fountain of Salmacis and Fly on a Windshield. I'm trying to learn In That Quiet Earth and it's a killer. My covers band are going to do Turn It On Again (and may be ITQE). Sadly never saw them with PG :-(.
2. Phil White do you have a connection to TC? I've just bought a BH250 and am having fun with Toneprint.
3. Last thing I wanted to see was an upskirt shot of Yoko
4.
Without wishing to be cynical this could be more of a commercial venture than an artistic one.
IIRC they have stated their unhappiness with the released version and intention to remix and re-release almost since day 1. Glad it's happening although I was happy with version 1 but I shall probably buy version 2 being a Rush completist
5. I bought a BH250 yesterday. Not used it in anger yet but it seems ideal for me and that Toneprint facility is just so tricksy
6. I was going to buy a BH250 to use with a 1 x 15 cab for pub gigs and such (I'm starting out again too) but I notice TC have some offers on at the moment. By a BH500 and cab, get a second cab for free e.g. amp and two 2 x 10 cabs for £585 (Dawsons music). Seems like a good deal and I might be tempted..
7. I'm sure the bass was on display at the North West guitar show last year. Not much help really, sorry
8. Chinos and cocktail dresses - mmmmm nice :-) Can't help but back in the day (late 80s) we did a gig at the US base in Greenock. We just wore our normal jeans and t-shirts. 3 x 45minute spots of prog with a few covers thrown in. Bizzare.
9. Now the saddos from the audience with their vip passes shuffling around on stage are really dragging it down.
10. 4000 "hitting railway tracks with a hammer at a distance of a kilometre or so away" PMSL
11. thisnameistaken - but see the post two above yours
12.
I'd like to know how he got it so that I could avoid ever duplicating it.
I'm not clever enough or experienced enough to know so could you explain further what's wrong with it? Too toppy? Too middly? Just sh*t? What? Genuine question not trying to be difficult
13. Let's Dance. That empty mic at the front should ideally be occupied by DB - no?
14. Really enjoying this. Agreed that the sound is a bit iffy but nothing new there about a BBC broadcast. Bass is cutting through well enough for me and it sounds great. The girls are hot too
15.
I've tried many times to 'get' Seasick Steve but I find him duller than a very dull thing indeed
Thanks for your contribution. It was really helpful . Anyway, moving on
16.
BMW 320D MSport Saloon. Great on fuel. Looks the nuts and can fit loads of gear in it, not as much as the tourer, but good enough. I get 2 basses, 2 mike stands, 2 guitars, Mark Bass 151P, my guitarist big Marshall Stack, Numerous cables and pedal stuff. Haven't tried to put a drum kit in it yet tho.
I've just got hold of the touring version of this. Loads of room and bloody quick.
17. Despite my reluctance (no Jon Anderson) I'm signed up to going. Two great albums, be a shame to miss out.
18. My pan lids are there. I was tempted by Sabbath but really the line up couldn't persuade me to fork out the fat end of £200. Have a great time all who are going.
19. Guess I'll hand over the cash then Actually I've skimmed back over the thread and links, cheers
20. I'm a bit confused too. I have a Hughes & Kettner BC115 rated as 300W at 8ohms. I want a small light weight bass amp for rehearsals and pub gigs and I like the look of the TC Electronic BH250. The speaker out states 4ohm minimum load. Hence I still get the full 250W with my 8ohm rated cab. Or do I? I've tried revisiting Physics O'level for an insight but it's not any clearer Edit: can someone post up the equations to calculate the change in output power for the change in speaker impedance?
21.
ha ha.. maybe I should... That album is part of the reason I play the bass. It's fantastic. And now I get to play the songs with guy who played the bass originally, and the drummer. it's all a bit mindblowing...
'tis for such things that we persist in our art and even the reason that we live. Respect Sir!!
