1.
Your credit card company will charge you a poor exchange rate though. Just check what it is first so you don't get a suprise
Yeah, a big +1 to this. I got hammered pretty well by Barclaycard. It's worth calling/emailing them to find out what their exchange rate charges are just before you go for it.
  2. Nice one and a cool build in the making! If you don't mind telling - How much roughly will your build come in at? Cheers, Jon

...From TV Jones... 1x TV Jones 'Thunderblade' Bridge Position Bass Pick Up, Nickel Cover...
Hi billyapple, Just wanted to point out the pickup hole shape & actual pickup shape are going to be OK as your list has 2 different shaped bits listed? Cheers, Jon

  7.
if i buy something here 'new boxed' should i expect 12 months warranty?
A Private/2nd hand/One off item from here, Gumtree, eBay, etc then No. New from a dealer or shop then Yes. http://whatconsumer.co.uk/second-hand/ Warranties are only transferrable at the Maufacturer's discretion so may be worth investigating a bit more.
  8.
...EDIT: But for that much money I'd rather buy a Wal.
That's the trouble isn't it, the competition in that price range is phenomenal.
  9. Don't know why, but WOW me likey!!! http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Lull_JAX_T_4_Red.html
  10.
I will admit, I personally don't like using the low string all the time, I try to use it sparingly but not really possible in some sub-genres or with certain guitarists
I think this is my thinking on the 5th string with respect to Metal
  11.
Thanks Jon, if I were an MM player I'd have had that gorgeous anniversary bass of yours.
Very kind of you Steve. It's in The Gallery now should anyone fancy buying it! Any chance of some more pictures of your new bass for a better look at the 'mojo' Steve?
  12. What a nice old bass. It will look great with the tort plate!

For me this: Guns N Roses - Nightrain. This is a live version that pretty much nails the feel IMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FbDSqf55Co
  17. Bet he's gutted he never made it into Steel Panther - NSFW!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfB7vF7nCdA&ob=av2e
  18. Wow - Right up my street! Whereabouts are you based?
  19. Received some strings today that I bought off Dan and all went well. Thanks Dan and all the best, Jon
  20. Hi topcat3355, On the Barefaced Bass front have a read through Alex's very good Tech Info for more food for thought: http://barefacedbass.com/technical-information.htm Also I believe that the amplified output from low B string to our human ears means we hear the harmonic notes more than the fundamental note so the need for a 30Hz cab is not as critical as you may think... There's some great info on here about all that if you search through, I tried but couldn't find anything immediately so please shoot me down if I'm wrong! All the best, Jon
  21.
...Strange coz that was originally soldered by Fender, not me...
I've had trouble with a new pickup like that once before so it does happen. Friday afternoon specials maybe?
  22. That looks great Twigman, well done! The Rosewood looks nice and dark which is my fave.
  23. Just bought a bridge off Tony and it was a fast & smooth deal. Thanks, Jon
