1.
It has the same preamp as my Spyder 550, which I absolutely love. I imagine that those 4 KT88's can only make it even better. I'm really tempted to get one of these babies too.
EH - Does it do valve overdrive sounds can you tell me and is it 'mild' or 'wild' distortion out of it can you tell me?
Can't help with the ad, but can verify that Ashdown's email inbox is the online equivalent to a black hole.
Hamfist that's useful info and I will try and bell them today if I get time! Thanks Chaps.
2. I would like to try one of these but can't find one anywhere. I've emailed Ashdown but had no response so far. So, Anyone got one. Is it good? Any info much appreciated. Cheers, Jon
3.
I'm a bit late to this thread but yes someone here did buy it. ME! And yes it is a bit special. If anyone wants to know anything about them give me a shout.
Any pics up on here yet tonyxtiger?
4.
One or two Barefaced Compacts. Usually one.
Nice one Kirky - I have 2 Barefaced Compacts too and like to use 2 at all times LOL!
5. For me - Slash, Joe Perry or Jimmy Page.
6.
Did you just get that from the Gallery per chance ? http://www.thebassga...e=Bass%20Guitar
No, I have it in there on a commission sale LOL!
7. Here's mine:
8.
Will consider a part-exchange on this bass - anyone want to trade?
Rob, What sort of thing will you trade against - Makes, Models, Amps?
9. I would go for something like a Barefaced Big Twin for that amp. Depends whether you want a mid driver and/or a tweeter for higher frequency extension. If not from my experience I would go for 2 x Compacts as they can really pump it out LOL! Good luck.
10.
anything relicd or artifically roadworn
This. Especially Bravewood Guitars for me.
high-end, audiophile, oxygen-free copper, NASA-designed coaxial, Wooten-endorsed cables
And this with the power cable variety rounded up with them!
11. In a word - No. I would recommend wading through Alex's Tech. Info and asking lots of questions on here about what you are unsure of. http://barefacedbass.com/technical-information.htm All the best, Jon
12.
So do we all like the sound of a single payment for a one off advert and the option of a single yearly payment?
If this will keep BC up and running nicely then Yes.
13. The DeTemple guitars are eye watering amounts of money (US$6k and up!) so this bass will be a pretty penny!
14. A good read is this: http://www.dpamicrophones.com/en/Mic-University/The-Essentials.aspx Cheers, Jon
15. For me it would be a Masterbuilt Precision - Fiesta Red, B/W/B Pickguard, Fretted Dark Rosewood or Ebony 'board with just side dots, Black painted neck, Black hardware, Early 70's logo in white!
16. A useful read on the subject: http://barefacedbass...ythbusters1.htm
17. IMO It is just a TV show. No likey, no watchey!
18. Hi lloyd, Interested in a trade with a MarkBass SA450? PM if so please, Cheers, Jon
19. Thanks for the quote of the dim's Roland Rock. That's too big for me to store at the moment which is a shame
20. Hi All, Can one of you fortunate enough to own one of these please measure it's L, W & D for me in CM's? I have very limited gear storage space and also want to see how it will sit on a Barefaced Compact. I have looked on the website but couldn't find anything on there. Many thanks, Jon.
21.
... I hear bad things about Watford Valves.
I have found them to be rubbish with online/email contact put absolutely brilliant over the phone in terms of advice and stock availability.
22. I see the Natural Jeff Ament bass is sold at Bass Direct - Anyone on here buy it? Would love to hear all about it if so... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Lull_JAX_T_4_Ash.html
23. Steve that Boogie 2x18" looks great and dwarfs your 2x15" - Love it
24. Bassbiscuits/Chris sent be just over a dozen picks for free! Many thanks and nothing but praise for the man.
25. I'm another that thinks the old MB 400+ sound cannot be replicated. The closest I've heard is the POD simulation so maybe that into a power amp may get you very close?
